The day had come. Bags had been packed. Tickets had been booked. We had planned to meet at my house and then all the three families would leave for the railway station. Adwita and her family, as usual reached an hour before. I greeted her parents then we went to my room. We sat and talked for things when suddenly she asked me, "so when are you planning to tell Randeep, Kayra?" "Tell what?" I asked, puzzled."That you love him, duh." My cheeks started burning. "Don't get started again,Khili. How many times should I tell you there is nothing like that!" I exclaim. "Khushi I know you love him but you are scared that if he does not reciprocate then your friendship will be ruined but trust me, he loves you just as much as you love him." Before I could reply Randeep enters in our our room. We watch in horror. "Whatcha guys lookin' at?" he asks, puzzled. I heave a sigh of relief. "Oh nothing. Come sit." Khili tells him, putting up a fake smile. He shrugs. "There's no time girls. We need to rush. Elders waiting."
We reach the station. I and Randeep are assigned seats together. We board the Shatabdi Express. I take the window seat. I purposely take out my earphones instead of air pods and put our favorite song, Kya Karoon (what should i do) by Zaeden. I offer him the left earphone. He smiles and takes it, along with my left and and entwines his fingers with mine. I rest my head on his head. This is the way we like it.
Adwita was right. I love him. Too much to tell him this.Goodbye Delhi.
P.S. Guys Khushi is Kayra's nickname and Khili is Adwita's nickname. Do not get confused.
