During the car ride, I kept glancing at Bennetts wrists that were usually covered except for when his sleeves fell down slightly. I had noticed that Bennett was covering his hands a lot with his sleeves, but I never thought it was because of this.
I always just thought it was nerves or something, which is unusual for Bennett to show that anyways. Cursing myself for my stupidity, I sighed. I should've noticed something was wrong ages ago.
"What's up, Naomi?" Declan asked from behind me.
"Oh, uh, nothing. Just thinking about a new book I want to get," I shrugged, not looking in Declan's direction. Bennett glanced at me sideways, and I saw a look of recognition on his face.
Turning back towards the road, it was like he had sent me a message telepathically. "Oh, ok," Declan replied, before looking around for his phone to listen to his music. Jordan, like the magician he is, was drawing. In the freaking car.
One thing I don't understand is how good at drawing he is, let alone in the car! That's just- it's just wizardry. Magical human.
"Whatcha drawing, Jordie?" He startled at my sudden question which had taken him out of his drawing zone before he gave me a huge grin.
"Oh, you'll find out at some point, Naomi," the grin plastered on the blondes face gave me a sense of worry.
"Can I see?" Declan asked, which Jordan turned his notepad to face him. They both snickered, before grinning at my pouting. "You, Jordan Wallace, are a genius."
"Wait, wait, wait. Did you, Declan Lynch, just compliment Jordan Wallace? The Jordan Wallace? Whom you hate?" I gasped. "And you called him a genius! What's happening?"
"Well, he's only a genius because of this," Declan stumbled, his face red.
"Way to boost Jordan's ego," Bennett mumbled from beside me, his eyes trained on the road. Everyone ignored his comment.
"Oh, my days! Declan has a crush on Jordan! Declan has a crush on Jordan!" I sung, which Declan's face heated up more as he denied it and tried to shut me up. Jordan had a small smile on his face, seemingly deep in thought.
Then, he did the unexpected.
He turned towards Declan, grabbed said boys face and kissed him passionately. The brunette's face was burning a bright crimson whilst the blonde had a small smile on his face still and carried on drawing.
My mouth opened and closed like a fish, unsure of what to make of the situation, like Declan.
"So you finally got the balls to kiss him then, Jordan?" Bennett teased.
"Perfect opportunity, what can I say?" He replied, focused on whatever he was sketching, his tongue stuck out a bit in concentration. Yes, Jordan Wallace can concentrate. And has a concentrating face.
Shocking, I know.
"Um, can we stop off for food?" Declan asked, fidgeting around in his seat as Jordan flipped his page, seemingly finished with the drawing he was focusing on or had given up for now. Taking glances at Declan every now and then, his hand glided across the page, directing his pencil and the lines that appeared.
"Sure," Bennett answered, and I saw him take a quick glance down at his wrist. Oh no. No he's not.
"Bennett," I whispered, making him glance at me before turning towards the road.
"Yeah?"
"Don't do it," I said quietly. "Please. Or I'll tell the others and get them to follow you."
All he did in response is shake his head, focusing on the road. I saw a glint in his eyes, signalling that the tears were building up.
Once we parked, I told the other two to go in and that we'd meet them in the services. "Bennett, please don't," I sighed, grabbing hold of his hand which was partially covered by his sleeve.
"Why not? It distracts me from the mental pain, from what fucked up thoughts are going on up here," he tapped his forehead. "It might not actually help, but it's better than suffering in silence."
"Well you would still be suffering in silence, just while you're causing extra pain that's actually unnecessary, even if it seems like it's your saviour. It's not, okay? Let's hope you don't learn that the hard way, which you're already aiming towards."
"No, I'm fine."
"I'm fine my arse!" Yes, I did just swear. It shows how much I care about my.. boyfriend? Can I call him that?
Due to my revolting language, Bennett looked startled for a second. "How can you sit here and tell me I'm not okay when you don't know what's going on in my head?"
"I do know, okay! I've been there, I just haven't done that exact thing. I've been to the deepest depths of Raymond's home- sorry, I mean hell- due to all of the bullying, okay? I know what's it like!"
"No, you don't. No one understands me! If they did I wouldn't be in this position, having this conversation with you right now. I'd be inside, eating happily, a rare thing for me now, watching a new love blossom," Bennett snapped.
"It might seem like you're alone, but you're not. You're perfect as well. Handsome, smart, talented, sweet and many other things that made me fall in love with you!" I could feel my tears rising in the back of my throat, ready to release onto my lap. Looking down, my face heated up, and I felt embarrassed for admitting that to him.
A pair of cold hands touched my warm skin sending shivers down my spine, and then my face was being lifted, a pair of lips to meet mine.
It was only a quick peck, but it still made my emotions run wild, my heartbeat to increase and the craving for skin to skin contact even stronger.
"Thank you, Naomi," he whispered, before we got out of the car to meet the others.
A/n ok I'm sorry this is bad but I rlly don't have the motivation to do anything atm like I can't even text my friends coz of how unmotivated I am. Idk y tho.
