Another problem I've seen multiple times in stories are the wrong use of dragon anatomy. I should clarify to you all, so that you will not repeat the mistakes that I once fell upon.

First, there is this incident with the 'claw' and 'talon' thing. Many people consider this the same, however they are not. By comparing a dragon talon to our own human hands, the 'talon' represents the whole hand, whereas 'claw' just means one finger, or the nails sticking outward.

Another confusing thing is the 'snout', 'mouth' and 'head' thing. These again are interchangeable, so be careful. To be specific, the face relates to the entire front part of their head, so their eyes, nose, etc. The snout is the long part of the head that starts from the forehead to the nose and often includes the nose. The mouth is just a mouth. They're not the same thing.

Also, those ridges on the back of every dragon except SandWings are called spines, or back spikes, most often. Sandwings have a frill, or sail.
