Hey guys! It's been quite a while. Since the last time I posted a lot has happened including the guild splitting up. For those who have read Xesus, it ended as I wrote it, in a fight. I have been very busy with school and applying for college/university so that is the reason for the lack of posts. So in hopes to still supply you with some stories I have my friend, whom we will call Arya, to help with writing. She will be taking over the dreams of the land series and posting here and there in my place. So without further delay I present you my good friend Arya.

Hello, I hope you guys don't mind me sharing the spotlight with Reckury. Anyways this will be a mini-series on dreams of the land. In Xesus, we had fake back stories for each guild member now I will create one for the rest of the members, including the new ones that are being added in Xesus: An Alternate Tale. I present to you Arkam's story.  The Boy from the Abyss.

Magic, it's all around us, helping us with everyday tasks. Magic used to fascinate me but now I see it as darkness, a form of power that can be abused, something that can be controlled. I was just a boy when I learnt this lesson. I lived in a town by the dark woods. It was quaint and calm and I used to love to see the different types of magic. When I was 9 the kids at school started to know how to use their magic. I didn't have one yet, and I was bullied for it. I was willing to do anything to learn my very own type of magic. I ran away to the woods in hopes of finding something or someone that could help me.  I was jumped by so creatures and as one was about to deliver the final blow the beast sat down on its back hind legs. I stood up and I saw an old hag standing behind me. She offered her hand and asked me what I was doing here. I told her the truth that I wanted magic to call my own. She then led me to home. It was a damp cave and poorly lit cave. I asked her what we were going here and she said in a very dry voice: "You want to learn magic don't you?"

The hag's name was Sepia and she knew how to teach many types of magic all of them begin a form of minion magic. Minion magic is an overarching magic group, in other words it has many forms like puppet magic, celestial magic, summoning magic and my own: necromancer magic.  I was able to spawn the undead, skeletons, ghosts, ghouls, zombie all to fight more me. I was learnt quickly and was much more experienced than the other kids at school.  I was so excited to go to school and show them what I could do and I could show them that they couldn't bully me anymore.

I realise now how naïve I was back then, because when I got into the school yard I showed them. I summoned a Skeletal Hound. They ran and screamed, I was still a freak and more than more. I wasn't sad no I was angry and my hound must have picked up on that because he attacked one of the boys.  In a panic I dispelled him. Adults started to careful move towards me and my instincts took over, I fought my way out.  With every drop of blood that was shed, the more my anger grew. I had already killed dozens and I was starting to lose controls of my actions. It was like I was outside of my body watching myself kill and summoned more of the undead.  I moved away from the now destroyed school and started to march towards town. My eyes were red and had an eerie glow, darkness started to surround me, I was changed. As I approached the center of town, soldiers stood there with weapons at the ready.  The part of town that was behind me was barren; they already moved the people to the more fortified part of the town. As I commanded my minions to attack the houses next to me exploded.  Flames engulfed my body.  The houses that were rigged with explosives were no more and a blazing fire stood where they once were.  Soldiers quickly cheered for they thought that they had won. My body emerged in the flames. I wore a dark cloak with the hood up, my face was covered by darkness and from it you could see one of my eyes still glowing. My right arm was no longer flesh, only bone and in the palm of it I help a purple and dark orb of fire.  My minions quickly emerged from the ground, and attacked the soldiers. I watched in horror as my body ripped them limb from limb. My body kept marching forward and killing thousands destroying buildings. The town was in ruins, fire was ravaging anything it could. Corpses were in shambles and spread out everywhere.  I stood in front of my mother and father as I brutally murdered them. I have destroyed my home, my friends, my family, everything that I had ever come to know.

Suddenly, I regained control and I ran to the woods where I stood by pond in tears. My arm was permanently bone.  I took off my hood and I looked at my reflection in the pond. I stared in horror at the monster I had become. One of my eyes was now red and the area of my face around it was now skull. I realised who was to blame. I ran to Sepia's cave in tears, once I got there she looked at me with an evil grin. Seeing my anger she said "You're a smart boy aren't you? You've figured it out". Out of anger I yelled "Why did you make me do this to me?!!"

She smiled once more and said "The answer's simple, I needed someone to do my bidding. You were weak and so desperate. This made you easy to control. Now come, we are leaving we have other towns to take care of."

"Why would I ever go anywhere with you!?" I yelled. "I pull the strings remember?" She said as she made me kneel before her. "You have no control" she continued. I quickly summoned a skeletal warrior behind her and he walked past her and he struck the floor in front of me. "Nice try boy, but I can control ur minions too" She smiled.

I struggled and fought to get back but I quickly fell back to my knees. I couldn't let her win.  I regained control of my warrior and had her strike her. He missed and she had him strike me instead. I quickly summoned warrior after warrior after warrior. "She can't control them all" I thought to myself.  I had managed to summon a small army. In shock, she yelled "but how... You are but a child, a weak child you can't possibly summon this many minions let alone control them."

She was wrong I was able to control them. It was a fight between my minions and her. She created a puppet out of stone to fight for her. I was losing and in a desperate hope to break free of her control forever I set the cave on fire, burning her alive along with her magic. Sepia was no more.  At the end of the fire I found a book of magic spells that had miraculously survived.  In it I managed to create a spell that would hide what I truly looked like to others. Unfortunately this spell faded whenever I used my own magic. I, Arkam, am always reminded how I slaughtered all that I knew when I look into a mirror.
