"I swear I know their setter," Hinata mumbled under her breath.

"What was that?" Kiyoko questioned.

"Oh it's nothing. Just thought I recognized someone," Hinata answered.

"Who?" Takeda joined in.

"Their setter," she told the two.

"Hm," hummed Takeda in surprise.

"I got it!" Hinata suddenly exclaimed, gaining the attention of the gym, "We play video games together."

"How do you know what he looks like?" Takeda asked worried about the answer.

"Oh, well we've FaceTimed before. After having played with each other for a while we trusted each other enough to do that," she answered knowing his worry, as her mom was too.

"Do you plan on saying hello?" Kiyoko asked, joining in on the conversation

"Not sure," is all Hinata said, before focusing her eyes back on the game.

Time skip by my rat looking dog (I just gave him a bath and thought he deserved a shout out)

In the end Nekoma won. Hinata was not surprised. The whole time she observed the game she could tell Karasuno lacked teamwork. The team had skill, they just didn't use it together.

"And that makes another loss," Takeda sighed loudly.

"They just need better teamwork," Hinata thought to herself. Well she thought she did. Instead the whole team stared at her shocked

"We'll do better for you!"
"What do you mean?!"
"We're perfectly fine!"

Those sentences didn't bother Hinata at all, however the next one did.

"How can you say that if you don't know how to play the game yourself?"

"Oh so I can't play now" she thought to herself.
"I can play! Just watch me."

Quick heads up. I'm not making her a middle blocker due to her height. Even if canonly Hinata can jump high, she/he is much shorter in my story. Having Hinata as a middle blocker in my story is to unrealistic.

"I was taught by an amazing team how to play volleyball. I'm not tall enough to be a hitter or blocker, but I promise I can do other things," she announced to the team.

She ended up getting Sugawara and Asahi to help her out.

"You know. If I was on a volleyball team I could be a pretty great libero. I can also set pretty well, but that wouldn't work out in a real game due to my height," Hinata said as she starts mumbling.
(In a real volleyball game setters normally also have to block and hit during games, which doesn't work for short people.)

"Yeah yeah, just get on with it," Tsukishima said, tired of watching the girl.

"You got it, Tsukki!" She called out to the boy.

The team stared in shock seeing her use the nickname. They were especially surprised when he didn't argue back with her.

They were so caught up on the nickname they didn't even realize Suga setting. When they finally did Asahi was slamming his hand down on the ball. Hinata, seeing that he hit the ball, dove for it.

"She's not going to be able to get that" all the boys thought.

Bam! (Or whatever sound a ball makes when it hits your arms)

A perfect receive was made by the girl. I mean the team was comparing her to Noya at this point.

"How did she do that? That was Asahi's spike!" Almost all the team thought.

The team was so wrapped up in doing their own thing, that they forgot Nekoma was there.

"We're so sorry!" Takeda yelled to the opposing team, bowing his head up and down.

"Oh it's fine. We were enjoying watching this go down anyways," coach Nekomata said back.

"You said you can set too, correct?" Daichi asked the girl.

"Yeah. My old senpai taught me. He's truly an amazing setter," she told the team.

"Can you show us?" Kageyama asked, wanting to know this girls skill level.

"Sure, if you want," she responded back.

This time Tanaka volunteered to help. He really wanted to play with his new kohai.

Noya tossed the ball to Hinata, who then set it. No one expected it to go exactly where Tanaka's hand was. He slammed the ball down, no hesitation.

"Just who taught her that" Kageyama thought to himself.

In fact everyone wanted to know, just didn't know how to ask. Finally Suga asked the question no one else could.

"So who is this mystery team and senpai of yours?"

"Oh Aoba Johsai did! I never really had anyone to hang out with, so I just hung out with their team," she told the team.

"So that means the setter that taught you was Oikawa? Oikawa Tooru," Kageyama asked her.

"Uh huh."

"Did he teach you anything else," Kageyama more demanded than asked the girl.

"He helped me serve, although I could never get it right," she answered back, oblivious to Kageyama's anger.

"So he taught her, but couldn't help me?!" Kageyama wondered.

"Well, we need to leave. Hope to have another match!" Nekomata called out to Karasuno.

"Wait! Can I talk to your setter first?" Hinata asked the coach.

"As long as he's fine with that," he said back.

Kenma, already knowing what the girl wanted, agreed to talking. He was a bit hesitant at first because of the death glares from not only Karasuno, but his team as well. He decided it was fine and went anyways.

With Kenma and Hinata
"So you needed to talk?" Kenma asked the girl.

"Oh uh yeah. I just knew I recognized you and wanted to talk. I mean who would've thought we both would end up meeting?" She said, nervously laughing.

"Yeah I guess it's a small world," he responded.

"So your names Kenma? Can't believe you never told me!" She yelled while faking being hurt.

"You never told me your name either. I still don't know it," he told Hinata.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" She yelled into his face.

"It's fine. Maybe just don't blast my ear drums open," Kenma said to her.

"Anyways my names Hinata Shouyou. I think we're good enough friends for you to just called me Shouyou though. I mean we have been playing video games with each other for months," Hinata said, exaggerating the word months.

"My team is probably waiting so I'm going to head back. I'll make sure to keep in touch," Kenma said while walking away.

"Ok bye!"

In the Nekoma bus
"So mr cool guy. What'd she want?" Kuroo asked, much to the annoyance of Kenma.

"Just someone I've played video games with before. We call sometimes. It's not a big deal," he told the team.

"You've called!" Yamamoto called out.

With Karasuno
"So what were you guys talking about?" Suga and Daichi asked, parent mode on.

"Oh I met him online! Maybe 7 months ago we started playing video games together, and ever since then still have. Recently we started FaceTiming so I knew what he looked like," she told her "parents".

"Ok," they both said. They were relieved that they could trust Nekoma's setter.
