✨ Chapter 2 ✨

Hey guys!!! Sorry for the wait, this quarantine got my schedule all the way messed up lmao.

✨Jordan's pov ✨
Me, Jamal, and Monse were walking home coming from ruby's house.
Monse and Jamal were talking about something with Ceasar.
Monse always seems to bring him in the conversation.
But that's just how it's always been, well from what i've seen.
I plug my headphones into my phone while we were walking down a familiar looking street.
Monse and Jamal were bickering as usual, but then they got quiet and kept walking.
I was to busy listening to tupac to realize that we were really close to the santos.
"the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice" I sing quietly to myself.
I accidentally look at the santos.
they looked hard. Like they owned shit kind of hard.
I mean well they basically did, I thought to myself.
Around these parts I learned that nobody messes with them.
Well except for goofy prophets, but let's just say that don't end well.
"Don't make eye contact Jordan!" Jamal whisper shouts to me.
I nod and look the other way.
We walk swiftly across the street until we get on the other side.
After awhile nobody said anything.
" Soooo...." I say trying to break to silence.
" Oh yeah!, Jordan you wanna come spend the night?"
I look up surprised, nobody has ever really asked me to stay the night.
Well it wouldn't hurt to try it.
"Sure" I say with a smile.
She smiles back and we keep walking until we get to Me and Jamal's house.
"You can wait on the couch, I just need to get a few things" I say while walking into my room.
she shrugs and and sits down.
I walk in my room and go straight to my closet.
I open it dramatically and go through my drawers full of to-go backpacks.
Hey, being Jamal's sister he always told me that I need to have a bag for everything.
I grabbed the bag that was filled with my usual hygiene products and night clothes.
I head to jamal's room to tell him that I was leaving but I heard him talking to some one.
Not this again I thought to myself.
"For the last time Jamal, Juanita is not real!" I say bursting through his room.
He yelps while turning around. I guess I scared him.
"Jeez!, knock much?!" he says with an annoyed look on his face.
"And how do you know about Juanita?!" He says with a shocked face.
"I have my ways" I say nonchalantly while picking up a book he had on his bed.
" Hey hands off girl!" he said said while snatching his book back.
"Anyways, I'm about to go to monse's, make sure you tell mom and dad" I say walking out.
He just nods and goes back to talking on the phone.
I stop at the door frame.
"Also who are you talking on the phone with?" I say confused.
"If you must known, it's ruby" He says.
I start to blush a little, thank you jesus for this melanin because everybody would have seen my cheeks as a rosy pink.
"oh... tell him I said hey" I say and with that i walk out.
I see monse on her phone texting somebody.
It had to be Ceasar I said smirking to myself.
She looks up and notices me.
"Hey you ready to go?" she asks putting her phone away.
"yeah lets go i'm starving" I say half whining.
Me and Monse headed out the door and started walking over to her house.
We were walking in comfortable silence.
I really wanted to ask her about ruby but I knew I had to do it smoothly.
Or else she would suspect something was going on.
I mean something WAS going one, at least I think something is...
Stay focused Jordan!, you're getting distracted! I say to myself shaking my head.
I put on my determined face in my head and start to say something.
"So, monse" I say putting on any cool voice.
She looks up from her phone.
"Yeah?" she says.
"Does ruby have a girlfriend?" I ask still with the act still in my voice.
I mentally facepalm myself.
"Real smooth Jordan" i mutter.
She looks at me and then laughs.
She keeps laughing until she can't anymore I suppose.
I just stand there with a stupid look on my face.
She finally gets up from the ground... yes the ground.
"Ruby? With a girlfriend?! Where did you get that from?" She says while wiping away her fake tears.
"Umm I don't know. I just thought he would have one by now"
"Hmmm, well he most definitely don't got one." She says.
"Oh cool" I say while trying to contain my smile.
"Wait a minute do you lik-" she tries to say but I cut her off.
"Uhhh i'm hungry!" I say while rubbing my stomach.
"well we're pretty close to my house so don't worry, but you cut me off, do yo-" she says but I cut her off again by speed walking away.

Tonight is going to be a long night.
