It was a nebulous night, as a human Katherine Pierce walked through Bon Temps, a town she'd never visited before, located in Louisiana. However, being here was pure accident. She'd just escaped a prison world. She hoped Kai couldn't get out, since she had left him there when she'd escaped the prison world. She didn't want him existing outside the prison world, afraid that he'd finish what he'd started. That is, if she survived. She knew from her injuries that she either needed a vampire to heal her or a hospital. She didn't know any vampires here, though. All the vampires she knew were in New Orleans and Mystic Falls, as well as other areas in the world, but she didn't expect any old vampire friends to be here. Unless, of course, they were one of the few vampires she knew or had turned that liked small towns. She was pretty injured though, so she doubted she'd get anywhere. Then, at that thought, her vision dimmed and she felt the ground. She knew it was from her injuries. Kai had done damage on her before she'd succeeded in getting the ascendant to work for her.

Bill whom hadn't been back in town for centuries whom had recently come home to live in his old place, as well as get his place set up and everything, was walking through town, heading back home. However, when he smelled the scent of human, blood, and the familiar scent of Katherine, he blurred off to go find her. He didn't know how she was human, but if she was injured, just as usual, he'd save her in an instant. After all, he and Katherine had been together off and on throughout the centuries.

It was a dismal night, as vampiress Kat finished feeding from a human. She didn't always kill humans when she did so, but she did sometimes. And that's what she'd just done to this one. She felt that only certain humans were worth letting live, but that didn't mean she had no respect for humans. She may be 463 years old, but she'd once been human herself, though her memory as a human was starting to become quite a distant one. After being alive as a vampire for so long, older vampires usually forgot what it was like to be human, which was what was starting to happen to her the older she got as a vampire. She still had love, though. Despite being apart, she still loved Damon and, even as she loved him, she also loved Elijah. She just couldn't be with either of them. Elijah's brother would kill her that she was running from, while Damon she had to stay away from to keep him safe from Klaus. She'd rather die running from Klaus than to have to watch Klaus kill Damon just for loving her. After all, Klaus had taken so much from her. There was nothing stopping him from taking more of those she cared about. So, to keep those she cared about safe, she was staying away from them. All except for one if you didn't count once in a while when she and Elijah would meet up again. She and Bill had crossed paths five years ago, so they'd been traveling together ever since. They were even in love with one another. However, she knew this couldn't last. It was only a matter of time before she had to leave him behind, because she was too afraid of losing those she cared about at the hands of Klaus. Bill had a different perspective, but he didn't persuade her from what she did with humans. He knew she couldn't be told what to do, because she didn't like to listen to those that told her what to do. Therefore, most of the time, she and Bill went their different ways to go feed.

Later that night, she and Bill were in the woods making out. After half an hour though, they finally stopped and she told him she had to go, because she'd heard that Klaus was close. She had to leave, even though she hated to do so. She knew that, like herself, Bill was on his own. She knew that like herself though, he could usually take care of himself. He just had to stay out of the sun and away from those that knew his weakness to silver. She'd give him a Daylight ring if she could, but right now, she didn't have a witch at her disposal. She only used trustworthy witches to make Daylight rings and there were none at the moment. She hadn't met any quite yet.

After they kissed one last time, she left to go stay ahead of Klaus, neither of them knowing when or if they would ever see each other again.

*End of Flashback*

About half an hour later, he found her on her back on the ground. They weren't far from the cemetery, so he wasn't very far from home. He hadn't seen her in a couple centuries, but it was still surprising to see her human. She'd loved being a vampire last time he'd been with her. She'd helped him during the difficult times after he'd left the vampire that had turned him for good. Despite not seeing her for a couple centuries though, he wanted to kill whoever had injured her.

He knelt at her side and pulled the arrow out of her lower stomach. He then gently pulled her into his arms and bit his wrist, putting it to her lips, making his blood go down her throat to heal her, as well as save her life.
