    you step into the tokyo metropolitan gymnasium , just in time for the match of karasuno vs kamomedai high.

  you see both teams preparing to go on court
as you grab a can of green tea from a vending machine nearby before finding a seat at karasuno's cheering section.

you met up with coach ukai and takeda sensei.

" y/n , im surprised you made it in time. "
takeda sensei said.

" i woke up late as usual but i rushed here in no time. i can't miss the last match! "
you said , still sweating from the journey there.

you were a first year in the girl's volleyball team in karasuno. you often practiced spikes and serves with the boy's team setter , kageyama tobio , as you were childhood best friends with him.

you would often have conversations about both of your passions in volleyball.

you looked towards the boys and muttered a prayer.

" nice receive "

" nice serve! "

" don't mind! "

" cover! "

you heard throughout the match.

it was the end of set 1. karasuno lost one set of 20-25.

" y/n? let's not worry... " yachi said to you.

" yea. " you mumbled.

soon , just like that , the match ended with a set of 1:2.

you looked at all the boys in exhaustion and you burst to tears.

the team dragged their feets back to the waiting area as they all collapsed onto nearby seats or the floor. you went up to hinata and helped him sit up.

" hinata...you all did you best. " you muttered, trying to comfort him as he kept silent.

you looked around and went to everyone , trying to lighten the mood up.

" kageyama? " you whispered hesitantly and got no response.

you decided that it would be best to let them clear their mind on their own.

you boarded the bus along with the boys back to the inn.

you sat alone in a seat , gazed out of the window and wondered what you could do for them.

everyone has came this far , and put in their everything.

what could you do? nothing, at the moment.

you sighed.

a week later , volleyball practice had to resume.

you put on your knee pads and walk to the school hall , where the girls volleyball training is held.

" y/n! hurry up , we don't have much time!"
the captain shouts to you.

" yea! go on without me!"
you shouted , looking around to make sure if everyone had left the locker room.

" just a quick peek. i don't wanna get in trouble. "
