Raine's POV:

"What?"

"My name is-"

"No-" I cut him off, "Before that."

"Your friend is with us."

"No. No. After that."

"Our Alpha is finding you?"

"Yes!" I drop the phone on the ground. I'm mated to not just any werewolf, but an Alpha.

Holy shit.

I read about them, and the only type of werewolf that's worse than them are Lycans except Lycans are more on the manipulative side rather than dominant aggressive.

I shook my head and picked up the phone. "Are you certain?"

"That we have your friend?" Miguel question. "Well, I'm quite certain it's her unless-"

"No. I meant about your Alpha."

"We only have one Alpha."

"No! I meant I'm your Alpha's mate!" I was getting more and more agitated, particularly with the guy named Miguel on the other end.

"Ah. Yes, you're his mate. Now, my best advice is to turn yourself in. Our Alpha may not look like it but he can get pretty aggressi-"

"Let me speak to your Alpha," I said.

I heard Alphas are quite dominating but they do have a weak spot.

Their Lunas.

If I speak cautiously and softly then he may release Helen. Helen can go back to our town and I'll somehow find a way to go back too. Not the most perfect plan, but it's what I can come up with at the moment.

"No can do," Miguel said.

"Why not?" How can his Alpha not want to talk to me? I heard Alpha crave their Luna's attention.

"Because-" he pauses for a long time. "Because-" he pauses again. "He-" he stops talking for the third time.

"Are you trying to come up with an excuse as to why your Alpha can't speak to me?" I exposed him.

"No. No. Of course not. It's just our Alpha is busy interrogating your friend-" he said slowly, "and so, he cannot come to the phone."

"So, mind link him."

"I could, but he's mad at you so he does not want to come to the phone. Now, if you don't want your friend to get hurt. Turn yourself in. And don't even think about calling the enforcers because we will know. I'll message you the address." The phone call ended and soon, I felt a buzz. I look down to see the location address.

With a deep exhalation, I turn towards Betsy and Donna. I gave them the address and got into the car. Betsy chuckled, "Wow. Fancy place you're staying at." She punches the location in the GPS for Donna.

"It's a good place?" I question.

"Try extravagant." Betsy pushes the GPS into the glass. "It's one of the priciest hotels in the city."

"Oh. Yay me." I look over to my left to see Malcolm staring at me.

"May I ask you a question?"

"Yes."

"Do humans really eat werewolves?"

I notice Betsy and Donna exhale at the same time. "Malcolm. For the last time-"

"No," I said. I didn't want Malcolm to get in trouble later because of my discomfort towards him questions. "Humans don't eat werewolf."

"But, I heard that humans eat other creatures to get power."
