(disclaimer: i don't know if his mother speaks english or not, so don't trust me on this one yall:p)
about half an hour after i had chosen a white dress with one of johnny's cardigans, chenle had arrived to pick me up.
"you look pretty." the boy smiled, holding his front door for me. "ma, we're home!" he called out in mandarin, receiving a reply from his mother. "she said dinner isn't ready, so we can chill around for a bit. my brother is playing games on the tv, so we can go to my room, if that's okay?" he asked. i nodded before he grabbed my hand and led me to his room.
"what's your mum cooking?" i asked, sitting on his bed. "hot pot." chenle grinned cheekily, lying beside me. "i'm so tired." he sighed before closing his eyes for a few seconds. "what did you do today?" i asked, playing with the tips of his hair; his tense figure immediately relaxing.
"coach is extending every practice thirty minutes. it's so tiring, that's all." chenle explained, leaning his head on my leg. "it's okay, you can sleep while i'm here. i'll wake you up when dinner's ready." i encouraged, stroking his hair as he began to fall asleep.
fake dating with chenle became easier and easier, sometimes i stopped faking them. other a few weeks, i've grown to know chenle better than just a fake boyfriend. i learnt the things he liked, liked to have, didn't like, didn't want. like now, i figured out that he likes having his hair stroked and played with.
i was pulled out of my thoughts when a knock was heard on his door. his mother said something, assuming dinner was ready; i shook him gently. "chenle? babe, dinner's ready." i whispered softly but loud enough for him to wake up. "the food is ready?" the boy groaned. i hummed as a response, he grabbed my hand and lead me downstairs - kissing my head in front of his parents.
(hi i'm lazy so the bold writing means its in mandarin and that chenle translates for you, if the writing is underlined like this, it means its in mandarin but lele has not translated:] and whenever you reply lele translates lol)
"so, y/n! how did you meet chenle?" his mother asked. oh i wrote him a love letter, but of course i didn't say that- enough people know about my love letters. "i met him during primary [elementary]." i smiled as chenle filled my bowl with hot pot.
"oh, that's nice. in your family, it's you and your brother. i'm sure your parents enjoy having two genders to talk to. me? i'm stuck with him and the other one in the living room!" she laughed in a friendly manner. "ma, i told you before, her parents left her and her brother when they were younger." chenle explained, causing his mother to turn pink before apologising, i laughed before telling her it's fine.
~
"last plate, lele." i smiled before passing him one of the bowls for him to put into the cupboards. "i'm sorry about what my mum said earlier." chenle said, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me in for a hug. "it's okay, i enjoyed thinking about them for a little while." i mumbled into his shoulder.
"do you want to go home now? it's 8:45pm." chenle said, i nodded before slipping the cardigan on. "babe it's cold outside, take these." he offered me two of his hoodies, taking my cardigan and slipping the hoodie on before entering his car.
~
"goodnight, love. wear my hoodie to school tomorrow." chenle smirked, winking down at me before kissing my forehead, causing md to blush red. "night, chenle." i smiled, standing on my toes to press a kiss on his cheeks.
