The day before your boyfriend Brandon would leave for Basketball season, he sits down to talk with you. He tells you that the previous night, after clubbing with his friends, he woke up in an unfamiliar bed with an unfamiliar woman, naked. You were heartbroken. Your boyfriend of two years cheated on you.
You could tell by the look on his face that it was 100% a mistake. He honestly regret what he did and if he could take it back he would.
Brandon was just as equally heart broken as you were. He lost his soulmate over a mistake he didn't even remember making. He had his whole season ahead of him, but that was no longer on his mind. You just walked out on him.
Youdecided that yall wouldn't work out as a couple, but you didn't want to lose your friend. And so you guys remained friends. But yall aren't all that close.
* Six months later.
"Hey guys." I said walking into Brandon's beautiful mansion. He sat in a chair getting his hair braided.
"Hey girl." His hair stylist said.
"Charlie is in the back." He said while playing his game. I scrunched my face up.
"Why you got my baby in the back?" I asked.
"He's dirty." He said.
"Nigga you dirty." I mumbled as I walked to the sliding glass door to see Charlie completely covered in mud. "BRANDON!" I yelled.
"What?!" He yelled back.
"What the hell happened to my poor baby?!?!"
"He rolled around in mud when I took him out to shit this morning." He said.
"Ugh." I frowned as I exited the house and walked up to an excited Charlie.
"Hi cutie!" I said in my baby voice making his tail wag. "Let's get you all cleaned up."
Before Brandon and I broke up, we got a puppy together. We both agreed that we wanted him, we both agreed on a name and we split the price of him. So it's only right that we have joint custody of him.
We were both lonely when we split and Charlie sorta filled the void. Plus, he's like our baby. One of us couldn't just take him and leave the other one lonely.
