Mistie clutched her schoolbooks to her chest, moving her head to cover her right eye a little more. She was heading to science, slowly as they weren't actually doing anything today. There was a guest coming in to speak about forensics, which interested Mistie but she probably already knew most of the stuff the pony was supposed to talk about today. Perks of being morbid and into murder-mystery shows, she guessed. With the bell going, she realized she was going to be late if she didn't get a move on, but she didn't really give a shit. Stopping in the midst of her slow travel, Mistie looked behind her at the empty hallway of the school and contemplated on just jigging her last class, which would result in her missing any potential assignments as well as a call home to her super strict father. She sighed heavily as she continued down the hall towards the science lab, hearing the panting and heavy footsteps of somepony behind her. Probably just another student, running late for their class.
Mistie was proven wrong when a stallion rushed by her, just barely missing her and tripping over his own two feet. His glasses flew off and he dropped his books everywhere. Mistie had never seen this student, but she knelt down and began to gather his papers and books for him.
"I-I am SO sorry!! I didn't see you there," the stallion started as Mistie handed the flustered stallion the books he'd dropped, catching a glimpse of the title of one textbook - Handbook of Forensic Medicine. Mistie gasped slightly before retrieving the stallions glasses for him and handing them to him.
"You're the guest that's supposed to come into my class!" She exclaimed, slightly excited for some reason, unknown to herself. The stallion nodded, and placed his glasses on his face, his cheeks a light rose colour, blushing from his trip.
"You may call me Dr. Edison, mainly because nobody can pronounce my last name and I have no time to explain how to pronounce it." He stood up, taking his books that Mistie had held out to him, "Thank you, miss."
"How about I just call you Eddy, then?" Mistie giggled, somewhat flustered after seeing Dr. Edison with his glasses on. Ed's cheeks turned a brighter red, as he began to walk towards to science lab with Mistie following close behind him as he stuttered a bit at the question.
"W-well I suppose... But I am your superior, it would be a lot more respectful to call me Mr. Edison..."
"Fuck that formal shit," Mistie mumbled under her breath as she walked into the lab behind Ed, moving her bangs even more over her face as she felt the eyes of her classmates fall onto her. She quickly took her seat and started to stare out the window as Mr. Edison began to speak. Try as she may, her eyes began to feel heavy as the late afternoon sun hit her face and she couldn't stop her eyes from closing.
