They had been out for a while, and it began to get quite dim out, as the sun began to change to blue skies to a darker purple. Walking home from a Steak 'n Shake, Mistie and Ed walked in the cool night air, but also an awkward silence. They talked very little while they had eaten, but it wasn't as awkward as it was right now. Mistie lowers her head, her bangs falling in front of her eye again.
"Why do you do that...?" Ed's voice came from nowhere as Mistie flinched a little, slightly surprised.
"O-oh, I uh... I normally keep my bangs in front of my eyes so nobody sees how tired I always am," Mistie giggles nervously, as she recomposes herself from the sudden question. She heard Ed chuckled to himself which caused her to stop, as she looked his way. "Why chuckle like that? You look like sleep would serve you some good too," She blinked, as he turned at the retort. But Mistie just smiled a little.
"Y-yeah, I uh... I work in forensics, so..." She'd broken the silence as Ed stopped walking to turn his full attention to her, as not to be rude. Close to them was a bench, and Mistie gestured to it, Ed nodding in agreeance.
"What got you so interested in forensics, anyway?" She prodded, taking a seat. Ed shrugged.
"I... Uh... Hey, do you like Dexter, by chance?" Mistie's ears twitched.
"Erm, well... Obviously? But what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?"
"When were we talking about China?" Mistie snorted as she held back the laughter before Ed stopped and thought about it, "Wait, that's a metaphor, isn't it?" Mistie nodded. "Shit."
"You're fine," She giggled as she looked down, her hair falling back to in front of her eyes.
Ed reached over and nervously pushed her hair back, causing Mistie to look up at him, her cheeks burning as she stared into his green eyes.
"Please stop that, you have very pretty eyes..." Mistie blinked at him as her cheek grew even hotter. She then proceeded to lean in and kiss his cheek. She couldn't hold it back any longer. Ed's ears perked up, his cheeks growing hot instantly against Mistie's soft lips, and his nose started bleeding a little, and when Mistie pulled away, he turns to her, "So awkward question, but how old are you, and it's not meant in a creepy way I just-"
"I'm 23, actually..." Mistie's ears were down against her head as she answered, unbothered at the randomness.
"O-okay so uh, I was uh wondering..." Ed stumbled over his words and his gaze darted everywhere, "W-would you, maybe, and you don't have to, but if you would like to, come to my place for a bit?" His cheeks were a deep shade of pink.
"Of course I would." Mistie leaned into him as she hugged him.

~ Several hours later ~

The flatscreen became nothing more than just background noise as Mistie and Ed drank some beer, talking about life. Mistie explained to him why, despite being aged 23, she was STILL in high school. He listened as the lightweight who was on her third beer ranted on about her mother.
"The bitch doesn't understand that she can't keep sleepin' around, 'cause dad dropped her when she got caught with that druggie. I can't sleep most nights because they're always arguing, and they normally don't stop until about 5 in the morning and I am suppose to be to school for 7:30, so by then I just give up and watch all sorts of murder-mystery things on EquestriaYou." Ed tilted his head.
"You have EquestriaYou?"
"I have a paid membership that my dad pays for. I live with my father 'cause he wants me to succeed in life and tries keeping my mother away, but she... She wants custody of me again so she doesn't have to pay child support..." She took another sip. Standing up, she wobbled as she tried walking to go get more beer from Ed's fridge, but she stopped to ask first by looking over her shoulder. With a shake of his head, Ed stood as well, having only one beer in him, he stumbles less than her as he grabs her and leads her up the stairs to a guest bedroom he has, but he isn't completely sober.
"Please, you need sleep. It's a Friday night, so you are free to sleep in as long as you'd like," Ed opens the door to a decent sized room, and guides the wobbly mare's steps to the double bed. As he attempts to lay her down, they both stumble and Ed lands on top of her as Mistie looks up at him, blushing with a big grin. Maybe it was just the alcohol in her system, but she was really warm to the touch, her soft greyscale coat soft on Ed's fingers as he couldn't help but slide it underneath her purple shirt. As if inviting him, Mistie sits up a bit, taking her shirt off to reveal the black lace bra she concealed and then gently placed her lips against his, but Ed pulled away for a moment, as his nose starts bleeding a little again.
"Are... Are you sure...? Can I save you? At least, for one night, if that's what you would w-want..." Mistie's cheeks burned so hot, Ed could feel the heat a good foot away from her face. When Mistie nodded and reached for his tie, Ed blushed hard before allowing the goth girl to pull him into a deep and passionate kiss, his pants seeming to get a little tighter...
