Certain events happened noong araw na yun hanggang matapos ito with a single period which marked its end. Pero katulad ng lahat ng matter sa universe; there is always an equal and opposite side of the story.
The sunlight poured through the empty “West Gate Park” of the celebrated Alderford Academy as I typed in the words 'Anong gagawin mo pag may crush din ako sayo?' sa bago kong phone habang namumula na parang kamatis.
Alam ko na hindi pa panahon na sabihin ko yun sa kanya ngayon pero alam ko kung ano ang ginagawa ko. I cannot be described as handsome or ugly, neither was I popular pero isang salita lang ang makakadescribe sakin—I'm a geek. With a much higher IQ than anybody else in the campus, maliban lang sa famous na school council president, tinatawag nila akong genius sa lahat ng subject sa paaralan. My name is Astor Monteverde.
Pero kahit gaano pa man ako katalino, I'm still a subject of constant bullying of people with higher status than me. Pero, sa totoo lang, walang nakakaalam kung sino talaga ako at kung saan ako galing, it was even vague as muddy water for the all-knowing Silesia Cojuangco.
"Silesia…" I called out her name. Inaamin ko, I'm in love with Alderford Academy's school council president simula nung nakita ko siya sa opening of classes nung first year pa lang kami at hindi ko na tinanggal ang aking mga mata pagkatapos. My mind slipped away with the visions of my first love—Silesia Cojuangco was indeed beautiful. Ang kanyang mahabang dark brown na buhok and sparkling blue eyes are always an eye-catcher pero walang nakakaalam kung ano ang nangyayari sa loob ng kanyang puso.
By coincidence, napatigil ako sa pag-iisip dahil sa message na natanggap ko mula kay Silesia. I read everything eagerly and with a satisfied smile on my face, sinabi ko sa sarili ko, " So, hindi ka talaga titigil sa kakasinungaling sakin, Silesia? I guess I have to make you learn. See you later!"
Umupo ako sa bench habang tumitingin sa langit sabay lagay ng phone ko sa kaliwang bulsa ko. Nag-isip ako malalim and after a few moments of silence, I stood up in a heave of a sigh and went to school council office.
Naglakad ako sa mga hallways and people all acted that I'm simply a mere nobody.
Kung sasabihin ko sikreto ko, I wonder how they will react to it?
I'm a very honest person, or so to speak. But I have a secret that should be hidden as far as possible otherwise, baka may 'masama' pang mangyari. I slipped my falling glasses back to my nose and continued walking to the office.
Nung nandun na ako sa tapat ng office, I waited for Silesia to arrive and finally, dumating siya na may pekeng ngiti sa kanang mukha. I know I could talk clearly, pero nagpanggap ako na nahihiya and with a stammered voice, I spoke to her.
“G-good M-morning, Silesia…!”
Tiningnan ako ni Silesia ng masama—napansin ko kaagad yun pero she simply smiled and replied, "Good morning din sa'yo, Astor! Nice meeting you out here!"
"Um…P-pwede…pwede b-bang…m-m-manligaw…? K-kung…p-pwede…" tinanong ko siya ng mahinahon nahihiya pa. But I know that I could go farther than this, pero alam ko rin na masisira ang image na nabuo ko sa Alderford Academy pag ginawa ko yun.
"No. May sinabi ba akong gusto kita?" sinagot niya ako. Napasama ang tingn ko sa kanya, pero despite that, pwede ko siyang matago na kahit si Silesia a hindi niya mapapansin.
"P-pero sinabi mo sakin! Through text…!" I persisted but she continued to smirk.
Siniyasat ko ang mukha ni Silesia and though she was showing a confused expression, makikita ang lahat sa kanyang mga mata—lalong nasisiyahan si Silesia sa frustration ko. Akala ko aalis na si Silesia pero bigla siyang nagsalita.
