Over the last week of the holidays the boys and I became close, every day we would hang out at the abandoned railway yard. However, the holidays were now over and it was the first day back at school. Straightening my uniform I took one last look at myself in the mirror before heading out into the kitchen. Grabbing an apple I raced out the door, I was going to be late for the first day of school. Running out the front door I raced down the stairs taking them two at a time. "Gosh, what took you so long"? Jin asked as I raced into the lobby.
"I don't know, why did you wait for me? We are going to be late" I replied racing past him
"That we are"
We got to school just in time for the 9 o'clock bell. The morning dragged on, I was counting down the seconds until the 12 o'clock bell rang, 11:57 three minutes to go.
"Fifty-eight, fifty-nine-" RING. The whole class got up and raced out the door, packing up my books I felt someone tapping my shoulder. "Come on, you're taking forever"! Jin groaned
"I'm getting there, jeez, ok don-" I was cut off by Jin dragging me out of the class down the hallway and to an empty classroom where six boys sat.
The weeks flew by and everything was good, it was the first time since my mother died that I felt genuinely happy all of the boys were so nice, Jin and I had become particularly close. We were nearing the end of the term when the first thing went wrong. It was lunch, we were in the classroom like any other day when Seb told us something that would change things forever.
"Guys I have something to tell you, it's important," Jin said, we all looked at him and waited for him to continue. "I have to move abroad to study, I'll be leaving tomorrow" He finished. All of us were shocked and hurt, but I understood all he wanted to do was make his parents proud. The rest of the day dragged on, as we stood at the school gates the boys said their last goodbyes, I, however, got to spend a bit more time with Jin before he left.
