Lena was already cooking when Kara got home from work that evening. Lena had signed all of her discharge papers and talked Sam into driving her home. Kara peeled off her coat and kicked off her shoes at the door (Lena insisted she did that at the door), reveling in the domesticity of this moment. Lena wore an oversized MIT sweatshirt and a pair of sweats, humming along to her music. Lena's headphones were turned up so high that she hadn't heard Kara come in.

"I'm home!" Kara called, making her way into the kitchen to place a kiss on Lena's cheek.

"Hey, how was work?" Lena smiled.

"Good. Cat Grant wants to interview us, but I told her to wait until you got all settled in again." Kara shrugged.

"She knows I'm home, then. She'll be stalking my social media, and I've already posted about being home." Lena sighed.

"Well, at least we can say you're still getting settled back in. Give it a few days before we pop the bubble." The blonde explained.

"Fair enough." Lena placed another kiss on Kara's cheek. "Now go change into comfy clothes. Sam, Alex, and Ruby are coming over soon, and Eliza just arrived in town again."

"Again? Already?" Kara asked.

"We got kidnapped, Kara, she wants to check on you."

"Right, that happened."

"How could you forget that?" Lena teased.

"Simple. I didn't want to remember."

"A healthy coping strategy." Lena raised an eyebrow.

"Not another therapy session. Babe, I'm fine." Kara groaned.

"I'm only letting you off because we have half an hour until your family gets here," Lena called, as Kara retreated into the bedroom.

"Our family!" Came Kara's reply, and the words made Lena's heart skip.

"Aunt Kara!" Ruby squealed, running and jumping into Kara's arms. Her moms were right behind her, greeting Lena while their daughter practically tackled Kara in a hug.

"Hey, kiddo! How was school?" Kara laughed, picking up the little girl and placing her on her hip.

"Awesome! The teacher helped me read this super cool book about dinosaurs, and Mama packed me a brownie in my lunch!" Ruby explained.

"That's super cool. Have you seen Grammy yet?" Kara chuckled.

"Yeah. She had to run some er-rands. She told me they're like chores, so I don't know why she didn't stay with me instead. I'm more fun." Ruby shrugged.

"Grammy had to go pick up the dessert, Rubes," Lena giggled, patting Ruby's arm.

"That makes sense. Dessert is very important." Ruby nodded seriously.

"Yes, it is. Why don't you come and help me with the table, dear?" Lena smiled.

"Okay!" Ruby chimed, a huge smile spreading across her lips. Kara set her down, she took her other aunt's hand, and the pair headed into the kitchen.

"Hey, you two." Kara chimed, pulling her sister into a hug.

"Hello to you, too. I saw you announced your relationship." Alex remarked. Kara pursed her lips.

"We didn't mean to."  She sighed. Sam snorted as Kara hugged her.

"You two are shit at hiding things." Sam teased.

"I can't help it! She's so pretty, I just get distracted." Kara insisted.

"Been there." Alex sighed, glancing at her wife and daughter.

"I know, I watched you love her from a distance throughout the Reign drama. I watched you realize she was in love with you. I was the maid of honor at your wedding." Kara smiled.

"True. I've watched you pine over her longer, though. Just try not to out yourselves." Alex replied.

"I will. Do you know what Elixa's getting?" Kara asked.

"Strawberry shortcake. It's Ruby's favorite right now."

"Sounds good. I'm going to go help Lee." Kara sighed, noticing Lena's attempt to multitask.

"I've got it, go see Alex." Lena insisted.

"I see Alex every day. Let me help you." Kara smiled, placing a kiss on Lena's cheek.

"Fine. Steam the broccoli for me." Lena agreed, still cooking two things at once. Kara decided to let it be and pulled a new cutting board out of the cabinet and a knife from the drawer.

"I'm here!" Eliza called, shutting the door behind herself. "How are my girls?"

"We're good, Grammy. Auntie Lena let me set the table." Ruby exclaimed, jumping into her grandma's arms. Eliza laughed and carried the toddler into the kitchen, dessert in her other hand.

"Let me take that." Kara laughed, tapping Ruby's nose on her way to the fridge.

"Lena, go rest! Let us finish this." Eliza insisted.

"I'm fine, I promise. Besides, you're a guest." Lena attempted, but Eliza held her hand out for the spoon. Lena surrendered and resorted to finishing up the table setting.

"You've got yourself a workaholic there." Eliza smiled.

"She really is." Kara laughed.
