The screams were defeaning,
I held my hands over my ears to muffle them.
Men,
women,
and children
all shrieking,
the sounds so desperate and chilling.I sat in the dark,
my legs completely numb against to ice cold stone.
The first couple of weeks they hurt so bad,
but now they are beyond pain.
If it wasn't dark,
im sure i'd see the signs of my legs withering and dying.
Now when I listen,
I hear the people behind the voices.
I remember the first time I heard a scream,
I mean really heard one.
The rush of nausea consume me.When I understood the difference between a scream of anticipation and a scream of realization;
they were makinh people watch.
But,I don't want the screams to stop.Because when they do,.
I know i'll be next.
