As I was cycling my way through the city, I heard someone chasing after me on their bike.
I turned my head around quickly to see a black-ish shadow on a black bike. His silver hair flying in his pale face. I picked up my speed.
However, he caught up fairly quickly. I was starting to sweat when he suddenly appeared next to me, breezing on his bike.
I was so surprised, I forgot to look where I was going. There was a big puddle in front of me, and before I could steer around it, it was too late.
I fell off my bike with a thud. I landed with my feet, but I wobbled off balance and fell to the floor. A stinging sensation was on my right ankle.
Hadrian swiftly jumped off his bike, and stood next to me with his umbrella open as rain fell on us. At the worst timing ever.
"Ugh.........." I groaned, trying to stand up. He held out his hand. I stared at it for a while, and finally took it.
As I let go of his arm, I toppled back. Hadrian caught me before I fell again.
"Are... You okay?" He asked quietly.
"NO!" I yelled in his face, wiping rain off my glasses angrily.
"Sorry..." He said, looking away. He held out his other hand. I looked down to see a soaked little stuffed animal keychain.
"My unicorn!" I exclaimed, snatching it back. I hid it in my inner pocket of my jacket.
"It's... cute," he said shyly. "My brother gave it to me back when we were kids. I just can't seem to leave it at home." I said, trying to stand up by myself.
"Why don't... I walk you home? I've got to apologize to your family for putting you in this state..." He said, and without me answering him, he picked up his bike, picked up my bike, handed me the handle, and started walking me down the pavement.
I couldn't help but blush as I felt his strong hands on my waist. He saw me wipe the rain off my glasses, and moved the umbrella to be right on top of me.
"Oh.... you don't need to do that. I like the rain. I'm a pluviophile." I said over the pitter patter of the rain.
"A what?" He asked as he put his umbrella away. "Pluviophile. Someone who likes rain. Check the dictionary," I answered, looking at the rainy sky.
"...Ok..." He said. I turned around to see him staring at me intently. I yelped.
"What are you doing?" I asked, making several other people turn to look at us.
"Nothing..." He answered quickly, and tightened his grip on my waist, making me squirm slightly.
We walked in silence for the rest of the way back. As the rain pelted on us, I looked up into the sky.
I would usually feel warmth from someone if they were very close to me. However, Hadrian wasn't like other people. I only felt colder the closer he was to me.
I shivered. Hadrian must've sensed that, and made me lean on him a bit. I smiled to myself in the rain.
