Friends never lie

In the crowded city, in a cut-off back alley, a hooded figure moved in the dark. His attire so black, he was but a shadow. His hair, darker than the void. The only part of him reflecting light was his gun, shining under the glistening stars. Beyond him was a camera, following the movements of the shadow. He was trying to raise suspicion. From his shoulder radio, a muffled voice spoke up. "Remember Nexus, we're doing this quietly."  The man subconsciously nodded as if his partner was actually with him. He then spoke into the radio, "Why can't it be like it was? None of this Phoenix stuff, just us, out there. On the field, shooting down cops."

Two Years Back

Jace Meet me, Bank Rooftop, 30 minutes.

Lucas Why?

Jace Just do it. This is big.

Lucas walked out of the bar, his drink was still unfinished. The bartender called out for him, "Hey mister! You forgot your drink! Mister? Hey!"

He dodged past the druggies and the petty criminals, shifting through the small gap in the buildings, making his way up the unfinished building. He climbed from bar-to-bar, rooftop-to rooftop until he was at the building directly opposite the bank. At this point, he could see his friend signalling for him to jump down onto the rooftop. Lucas breathed in, looked ahead of him, and jumped.

Lucas looked at Jace, clapping his hands together. "Good show! Very good show, Luke."  Lucas looked at his pal, panting, and managed to say two words, "Bug off." Lucas caught his breath and then asked the real question. "So... why'd you want to meet me here?" Jace took out his phone and showed Lucas something. "These guys, they call themselves the Boston Four. They want us in their group."

"So like what? The Boston Six now?" He chuckled. Jace shot a look at his bud. "No, three of their members died in 2004, the other went missing. Total ghost. Anyway, one of the friends of the group thought of bringing it back up again, but with fresh faces. And we made the cut." Lucas was astonished. "What? Us? You're kidding, aren't you." Jace shook his head and said, "Friends never lie." before turning around. "That's- That's amazing, man! So.. Where do we meet them?" Jace pulled out a briefcase behind the seats. It was jet black and hat a note attached to it. The note read 'Open it.'

Inside the briefcase were two black spraypainted Aegis masks. On the top right, they had a poorly sprayed 'B4' in neon blue with a crosshair around it. This was the symbol of the Boston Four. Behind the masks were two Ravens, high powered pistols only bought by rich and powerful men to show off their money and power. Ravens were said to be guns that could blow a hole in even military-grade armour. One was encased in a gold frame, while the other was in matte black, suppressed and had delta sights replacing the iron sights. Each of them had notes saying who they were for. Below the guns were stacks upon stacks of $100 bills. Lucas and Jace couldn't contain their emotions. It was the best day of their lives. On the inside of Jace's Aegis mask was a number and 'Call Me' circled around it. Jace took the note off and began typing the number into his phone.
