Saving you (nalu)

chapter 3

A/n heya just wanted to do a quick reminder that my chapters will be longer from now on so lookout for a lot more detail in them also I have a but load of school work to do because of the time I spent on this chapter so you're welcome. Also, I do not own any characters in this story happy reading.

Natsu pov

I drop Zeref and just stare. I am in shock. One minute I am holding Lucy the next minute she turns into Zeref what the hell is going on. Around me, I can see everyone's eyes wide in shock. "What the hell did you do with Lucy!"I hiss in his face. Zeref gets up and looks at me and lets out an evil cackle. I jump at him and chant: "FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST" and I have left a bruised, scratched and bloody mark on his side but for some reason he doesn't look the least bit fazed, I prepare to jump at him again but then he utters a few words. "Nuh-uh, I wouldn't do that if I were you," smiles Zeref as he stares at me mischievously. "Why not I already killed you once!"I sneer at him preparing to release another attack. "Yes but you won't, that is if you care about Ms Heartfilia's life" My body stiffens and I just stare at him furiously.

"Its seem I have some explaining to do, "said Zeref suspiciously. "You see during the battle of Tartaros you killed me Natsu when I say me I mean my body my soul or my conscience was still alive. Ms Heartfilia was oh so desperately trying to save you by rewriting your demon book which almost killed her I simply like I did with you turned her into a demon and when writing her demon book I wrote myself into it, its actually quite a simple concept. "

My mind is filled with anguish. Lucy is in this mess because of me she tried to save me and ultimately put herself in more danger. I clench my fists and stare at Zeref.

"What will happen to Lucy "I growl staring daggers at him.

"Well you must have realised by now that Ms Heartfilia has been having sudden aches and pains, that's me you see, pecking away at her life force bit by bit. You may have also realised more aggressive and angry behaviour that is from my influence as well. When her emotions hit a peak of anger I will appear taking over her body for a short while but she will not realise nor sense my presence in her. Eventually one day about a year or so from now Lucy will drop down dead awakening me once more."

Just then black smoke appears around him and Lucy is standing in the guildhall once more.

Lucy pov

For some reason everyone is just staring at me, i look around confused.

"You guys is something-I begin but a sharp and sudden pain comes from my side and I realise an all to familiar burn mark, this was Natsu s doing. I start to fall but I am caught by Erza who is standing behind me. Wendy follows me and Erza to the infirmary. She lays me down on the bed and lets Wendy do her magic. Instantly the burns disappear and I am left with a scar and a light sting. Erza smiles at me and tells me to rest here while she alerts the rest of the guild that I am okay.

Erza pov

I walk out of the infirmary tears streaming down, what am I going to do I think to myself, we have to save Lucy no matter what. I walk down to the guild stage and stand in front of the mic.

"We will not tell Lucy about her true condition. As far as she knows Natsu was fighting with Gray and accidentally hit her."I say as my voice echos through the guild. Every one mutters but then nods in agreement."We must find Lucys demon book and erase the part about Zeref and write her human self into it just like with Natsu but slightly different."Everyone nods and then I yell "for Lucy and fairy tail!" and everyone yells it back. I step off the stage and think that this plan has to work because I don't know what I am going to do if it doesn't.

Grey pov

I and that flame brain are walking to the infirmary to check on Lucy. I am worried for her but sure we can pull through this just like we did all the other times. I look at Natsu and he looks distressed and I know why. He blames himself for whats happening to Lucy.

"Hey Natsu don't blame yourself for what's happening to Lucy, "I say as we walk up the stairs "She did what she did because she made a choice and Lucy wouldn't want you to blame yourself, man, she loves you"

Natsu pov

I flinch at the word love. Lucy loves me really? I look at Gray and he is chuckling at my expression. I push him irately and he shoves me back. We are about to get to the door when Lucy walks out of the infirmary carrying her bag. She stops in her tracks when she sees me.

"Goodnight Gray, "she says as she walks past us not acknowledging me at all.

As she is out of earshot I ask grey why she isn't talking to me.

He chuckles"Have you forgotten already you idiot remember that real smart comment you told her earlier"

Shit now I remember.

"You should probably apologise," he says still bemused by my forgetfulness

"Fine whatever, "I say. I start to walk out of the guild but he grips my shoulder"Without breaking into her house in the middle of the night, wait until tomorrow at the guild." he muses.I nod and walk out to go home, what a day.

Hiya I tried to add a lot into this chapter and if you don't find it long enough I am sorry this is all I had planned when we get deeper in the story you may get longer chapters anyhoo see ya in the next chapter
