"Heartsick, heartbroken- To know love is to know pain. What could be more common? Even so, each broken heart is so singular that with it we probe the divine"

Taehyung stared at the mirror in front of him. He looked at himself for a moment before walking away and grabbing his wallet and phone. He looked at his watch. 6:48 pm. It would take 10-15 minutes to reach the restaurant so he wasn't in a hurry. He turned to look at the previously empty wall in his room and smiled. He shook his head, smiling as he walked down the stairs. He noticed the front door opening and Seokjin entered the living room, taking off his shoes.
"Welcome back, Eomma." Taehyung greeted him as he helped the elder take off his coat, Seokjin smiling gratefully. "You look great, honey bear." He commented as he looked at his son, smiling fondly and nodding approvingly. The blue-headed male blushed, thanking Seokjin and walking over to the table, picking up his car keys. He pecked Seokjin on the cheek before putting on his shoes.
"I'll be back by 9." He called out from the door as Seokjin yelled back a "Drive safe and take care." He exited the penthouse, walking over to the elevator and pressing the button. The ding sounded as the doors opened and he walked in, going to the basement to retrieve his car. He revved the engine of the jet black Ferrari 288, driving out of the lot and onto the empty street.
He reached there earlier, unsurprisingly as he was driving a Ferrari. He parked the car, getting out and locking the car. He walked over to the front doors of the restaurant, hitching up his coat and walking in. As soon as he stepped in, all eyes turned to him. He was wearing a graphic t-shirt with a blue and black blazer.
(Just look at it, I'm tired TTT^TTT)
A waiter quickly approached him, leading him to the reversed room. He thanked the male before walking in and freezing there. He took a deep breath, blinking his eyes to clear his vision but when the image of the male didn't disappear, he knew it was real.
Sitting in the room was none other than the very raven head he was desperately trying to ignore in his thoughts. He wasn't ready to meet him just yet. He wasn't ready to face the heartbreak he had experienced. He wasn't ready. He wasn't ready to fall in love again. He looked at the older male again, wishing he would vanish into thin air.
(*Gives up describing the outfit*)
Jungkook stood up, his eyes wide as he walked over to the younger male. Seeing this, Taehyung stepped back, hand on the handle as memories flashed in his mind. The ravenette reached his hand forward to hold the other's but Taehyung hissed out. "Don't touch me."
Jungkook's eyes widened again at the sentence as he retracted his hand, a hurt expression on his face. "What are you doing here?" The younger male asked him as he closed his eyes, praying to every God he knew to not let his tears out. Jungkook stepped back, scratching his neck as Taehyung opened his eyes, relaxing a little.
"Jackson and Mark invited me." He spat out Mark's name like fire, looking at the blue-haired male. Taehyung looked at him before whipping out his phone and picking up a call by Jackson. He lifted the phone to his ears, dreading the next words.
"Hey, Tae. We won't be able to make it. I'm sorry. Enjoy the dinner though." He said over the phone as Jackson ended the all. He shakily let the phone back into his pocket. He looked up at Jungkook, putting on a straight face and pushing his feelings aside.
"They said they can't make it. I must go too then. Please enjoy your dinner, Jungkook-ssi." He said as he turned to leave. But before he could open the door, his wrist was caught by the older male. Taehyung bit his lip, tears pooling in his eyes as he tried to blink them back. Why couldn't he just let go? Why did he make it so much harder for the younger to leave?
He turned around, looking up at the male who had broken his heart, 3 years ago. Jungkook looked at him, all his emotions swirling in his eyes at the close proximity. He didn' want to back away now, he didn't want to leave him again. The younger looked away, refusing to meet his eyes. Jungkook slipped a hand to the other's waist, holding him closer, if only for a few minutes.
"Tae, please look at me." He pleaded, his voice cracking. But the blue-haired male focused on the wall. "Please, Tae. Don't do this." He begged and the younger finally looked up with glossy eyes. "What?" He breathed out, his voice a whisper.
Jungkook blinked, confused at the male's words. "Don't do what?" Taehyung said, his voice getting louder word by word as he stepped back from Jungkook, hugging himself. He closed his eyes, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. "Taeh-"
Jungkook was cut off by the younger lashing out, screaming at him. "Don't 'Taehyung' me! You have no right to, Jeon Jungkook!" He said as he took another step back, letting all his pent up emotions out.
"You listen to me now, Jeon Jungkook! You are no one to me! You left me all alone 3 fucking years ago! Don't try to come back into my life like this again!" He let out with a sob, sliding down the wall, falling on his knees. "I was fine without you! I was doing just fine! I had finally realized that I couldn't love someone else as much as I loved you and I still do and I was fine with it! I was doing okay! Why did you have to come back?" His voice trailed off at the end as he tears poured out of his eyes.
Jungkook watched as he broke down, unable to do anything but listen. It hurt him but he knew he was the reason for his lover's pain. He knew he was the one who had decided to chicken out when things got hard. He had stepped back without realizing what it would do to Taehyung. So, he did the only thing he could. He listened to the younger pour his heart out.
"Why did you come back? Why now, Kookie?" He spoke out and Jungkook teared up by the broken tone. "You left cause it was easier for you. You left cause you didn't want me to be dragged down. If you cared enough..." He hiccuped, burying his face in his hands. "Why didn't you realize how much it would hurt me? Why didn't you think of me? I loved you and I forgave you. But it hurt so much. It still hurts, Kookie." He wiped his tears, giving up when they flowed out regardless. The older bent down, gently bringing the other's head to meet his gaze. He felt his own tears roll down when he saw the red eyes staring back at him. Without giving it a second thought, he embraced the younger. He felt him struggle for sometime before he gave up, clutching on his navy blue shirt.
