T.W.: hospital

After a few days, the boys were allowed to go back to their homes. Unfortunately, the brothers found themselves spending most of their time at the hospital, waiting for Augustus to wake up from his coma.

"Daddy?" Janus asked, tugging on Thomas's sleeve, "when's Papa gonna wake up?"

"I don't know Jan." Thomas sighed, picking up his son.

"I'm sure he'll wake up soon!" Patton smiled, but it didnt reach his eyes.

Roman just sighed, "he is going to wake up... right?"

"Its more possible for him to wake up than not." Logan told him.

"English please?" Remus rolled his eyes.

Logan sighed, "there is a very good chance Gust will wake up."

"But when?" Janus asked.

"How about I go ask the doctors, okay?" Thomas smiled.

Janus nodded and crawled into the chair next to a sleeping Virgil.

Logan cleared his throat, "is anyone hungry?"

"Kinda..." Roman shrugged.

"I'm always hungry!" Remus grinned

"Can I go too?" Janus asked.

"Sure." Logan smiled, "Patton? Do you want anything?"

Patton shook his head, "just some juice. Oh, or a cookie!"

Logan chuckled, "okay. If Virge wants something when he wakes up, text me."

Roman nodded. Logan took Janus's hand and walked out of the room.

It was silent in the room, other than the steady beeping of the heart monitor. Remus had his headphones on, blocking out everything. Roman and Patton started playing rock, paper, scissors. And Virgil was still sleeping.

Everyone was so busy trying to distract themselves that they didnt notice what was happening.

That is, until Augustus spoke up.

"Why does everyone look so sad?"

"Papa!" Patton yelled, jumping up to hug Augustus.

"Ah! What's happening!?" Virgil woke up with a jolt.

"Papa's awake!" Patton giggled.

"Patt- you're being a bit too loud." Augustus winced.

"Oh! Sorry..." Patton said.

"How are you feeling?" Roman asked.

"Do we need to get the doctor!?" Remus slipped his headphones around his neck.

"Just... calm down for a second." Augustus groaned, "where's everyone else?"

"Dads looking for the doctor and Logan and Janus went to get food." Patton explained.

"Janus?" Augustus asked.

"That's Dee's real name." Virgil told him, "something happened to him and now hes terrified of being called 'Dee'. He still won't talk about it."

Augustus nodded slightly, "okay."

"And when did they leave to get food?" Virgil turned to the twins.

Remus shrugged, "about ten minutes ago. You want anything? I can text Lo."

"Well where'd they go?" Virgil asked.

"Probably McDanks." Remus guessed.

"Cool. I'll have some chicken nuggets." Virgil nodded.

"Meal or no?" Remus asked.

"Meal, duh." Virgil rolled his eyes, "you know the rest."

"Yup!" Remus smiled, sending the text.

Augustus laughed, "glad I'm just as important as food."

Virgil blushed darkly, "sorry."

"Its fine kiddo." Augustus smiled, ruffling the boys hair.

"Hey Dad! Do you want anything?" Remus asked.

Augustus shook his head, "McDonald's probably isnt the best for me right now."

"Hey guys I'm- Gust!" Thomas yelled, opening the door.

"Hey Tommy." Augustus smiled, kissing his fiance.

"Oh my god, you scared us." Thomas sighed in relief.

"I know. I'm okay now." Augustus said.

"Gust... you had some damage to your spinal cord." Thomas told him, "theres a chance that you'll be paralyzed..."

"Its okay." Augustus smiled, "as long as we have each other."

"Papa!" Janus squealed as he opened the door.

"Yes! My chicken nuggets!" Virgil smiled as Logan handed him a bag.

Logan rolled his eyes, smiling fondly, "it's good to see you awake Gust."

"Its good to be awake." Augustus chuckled.

"When are we going home?" Patton asked.

"Hopefully soon." Augustus smiled.

"The doctor said he'll be discharged a few hours after he wakes up." Thomas said.

"So only a few more hours!" Roman smiled.

Augustus smiled and hugged Patton and Janus, "then we can all go home."
