This is it I can do it just one night and I can leave FOREVER. I chant that to myself over and over again as I make my way down to the field where the ceremony will be held. I suppose really that this could be considered the biggest night of my life. I will find my powers, my gift and some would even sadly say..... My home, but for me I can't wait I'm just not looking forward to the part where I get to be watched by everyone attending tonight, I guess I'm not a people person. On the whole really it's just a night spent doing nothing when I could be doing something, anything really, it will be a relief to get away from this hell hole.

"Hey Sydney". Oh no, oh please I beg no, not Zachary. Tonight of all nights he has to come annoy me now. Slowly, precautious, I turn, a grim expression already plastered on my face.

"What Zach "I spit his name at him. He looks surprised, as if I would dare defy his power. Stuck up little rich kid, if you ask me that is. Oh come on anyone would agree, the idiot gets his hair done every other week and I still remember that time he was late to class but paid off the teacher, he is altogether an idiot. He may consider himself fit, so may all the peanut brain popular everywhere else but I for one am disgusted by him. A literal, vomit in the mouth sort of disgusted. The last time I had to endure his delightful personality for more than a minute, the school had to get new carpets and maybe a chair or two, they got three but the last one was a load of crap.

"I came to see how you are doing what with tonight being the big night and all". He doesn't like me, it kills him to pretend he cares he just wants to get to Ava, prettiest girl in our year and who happens to be my blood sister.

Ok so yeah I know what you're thinking what the hell is she on, well the good news is I have been off drugs for six months now so there, but, a blood sister (or BS for short) is your best friend in the whole world. When your 15 you have to choose a blood sister but you both have to choose each other then you have to swap blood. So yeah it is as weird as you would think, but then I suppose the clue is in the name.

The boys though that's a different thing altogether because if they choose to, and even then they can say no, they can find a twin. Yes that is it, just a twin, no weird voodoo crap just a little party that joins them as 'brothers'.

I suppose the good news is that for someone to date your blood sister you both have to agree to it, so she won't be dating Zachary anytime soon. The bad news is though Ava really wants to do the whole double dating thing and I'm so not up to that cause I know now the way were going she will get the six pack hottie and I will be left with his ugly, nerdy twin.

On the whole though I have to admit that she's amazing. She's pretty, knows it, but doesn't walk around with a skirt up her bum, boobs hanging out her top and with her hair bleached yellow, so I guess that's why I chose her.

We're opposites in every way, for instance she prefers her hair long, flowing and brown whereas last year I cut all mine off and dyed the ends every colour imaginable. Last year I started to wear black hoodies and skinny jeans with my boots laced up the back and spikes on the heels. She will usually come to school in a white top with a skirt or shorts or in summer she will wear one of her vast collection of dresses. Ava has one set of piercings on her ears I have 3 and a nose and belly button piercing. I wear chokes and spiked bangles while she walks around with a ring on every finger and Pandora's on her wrists. We only really have two things in common, our age, we are both seventeen and are birthdays are just 2 days apart; our eyes are also the same sparkling shade of purple.
