"Why were you so nice to me then."
My lips quivered as I asked him as we were walking through the school hallway. No one was in sight due to classes being cancelled early and how the place we were in was relatively unoccupied.
"Hey, what do you mean?" His warm eyes and soft smile had me in an even more sour mood despite him not doing much except say those words to me.
'Aren't I being unreasonable right now... Yeah I'm being way too selfish right now but I should calm down, a bit.'
"Hm? I was just randomly talking to myself, ah how did your confession go by the way?" I clenched my fist as I acted all tough asking him, telling him words that indirectly hurt me as I mentioned them to him.
His eyes brightened the moment he heard my words. 'I guess I have ny answer now.' "Er, so I just told her how I felt casually y'know nothing special and then... I asked her if we could give us a try and then, she uh, pretty much agreed."
My head had instictively blocked whatever he had said as it went past through one ear and out in the other. I gave him a big smile back.
"Is that so? Congrats to you."
"Thank you really, I would have never been able to confess without all your support." He gave me a shy glance as he put his hand up and we connected our fists to have our fist bump.
"I really hope you can be happy." His face held another expression, one of concern. 'I messed up, my tears fell.' I attempted to voice out a reason for my tears.
"I'm sorry my own confession didn't work as well as yours so I'm a bit envious right now and couldn't help crying." He took me into his embrace. What is another half-lie in the midst of my many other lies.
"Please let me go." He let go of his hold as I gave him the biggest smile I could muster.
"I like you." I recklessly said to him before I turned my back on him.
"I like you too." His soft voice rang as I walked. My mood had lightened up a bit even if I knew it wasn't what I had originally wanted.
I hate you but at the same time.
