Chapter 10: KUIPER TRAINING ACADEMY

Headhunter: one who recruits new element holders

peacemaker: set of councilors. they check up on students and their mental and physical health.

gendarme: those who are reserved warriors if a war broke out

emissary: secret agents

note: upon entry, one would be classified as a neophyte. after a few months of training, one should either be assigned to a classification or apply for readmission to another classification.

isang anunsyo ang sumalubong sa bawat estudyanteng nasa Kuiper Training Academy. naglabas na ng memo ang eskwelahan.

nang mabasa ito ng mga kabataan ay agad silang nagkita kita at naging usapusapan ang pagbabagong magaganap sa academy. dumiretso kami sa cafeteria para mag agahan.

"is this the final one?" tanong ni Matt.

"no, this is subject to any changes lalo na kapag dumami na tayo. but for now..."tumayo si Cassey at masayang binati ang kasamahan sa lamesa "welcome to Kuiper Training Academy, our Neophytes!" wika niya. hindi gaanong tiningnan siya ng mga kaibigan na nagpatuloy lamang sa pagkain ng agahan. marahil ay mga hindi pa gumagana ang utak.

"thanks" napatingin siya sa lalaking nagsalita. "for the warm welcome" dagdag pa ng binata. napangiti si Cassey at itinuon ang atensyon nito sa katabi ng binata. "at dahil pinansin ako ni Kael, may special treat ako kay toothpaste!" masayang wika nito.

"what? ako wala?" reklamo ni Alvin na pinanlisikan ng mata ni Cassey.

A fellow Neophyte took the five to a tour around the whole campus. inintroduce na sila sa iba't ibang grounds dito. since wala pa silang alam kung anong kapangyarihan ang meron sila, it is better to make them familiar to different training spots. minsan kasi natitrigger ang kapangyarihang lumabas when they are in the right place. 

"Cassey, you're one of the first batch here. kulang pa tayo sa trainers. we've trained you for a few months baka pwede mo tulungan ang trainers natin. why don't you assist the new batches?" my mom suggested.

"so does that mean that i'll be studying with them? tapos sabay sabay kaming mamimili ng classification?" if it is what she meant, i think its great! i feel like i am closer to this batch than to my current batch.

"yes. ayaw mo ba?" 

"of course i love it!" napayakap ako sa kanya. "thanks mom!" 

"but you still have to work as the student council president, okay?" i nod as an answer.

"today is your first training lesson for self defense" anunsyo ng trainer na nasa harapan namin.

"i want you to get a stick first" he said na agad naman naming kinuha. why do i feel like we're doing moves just like those in mulan movies? this is exciting!

ni minsan in the past three months na nandito ako ay hindi ko naranasan ang ganitong training. all i did was to meditate sa peacemaker grounds. yun daw kasi ang best training for me since hindi naman daw panglaban ang kapangyarihan ko.

"now look at the bottom of the stick" the instructor said na agad naman naming ginawa. the bottom was color blue!

"now look for someone who has the same color as what you've got. that person will be your training partner"

i raised the stick into a level, enough for them to see that it is colored blue. i was about to shout 'blue' when i heard Alvin screaming "DUGONG BUGHAW! LUMABAS KA!" napayuko na lang ako sa kahihiyan.

"hey munk! i guess mas magiging close tayo for the next days?" i said at agad akong inakbayan ng mokong "yes! partner ko si madam auring!" he exclaimed at agad kong winakli ang mga braso niya.

honestly i was hoping to be partnered with Kael. i actually have a crush on him. he's kind, considerate, playful, and most of all he has toothpaste.

for the past few days na nandito kami sa academy, we mostly hanged out kapag gabi. favorite place na ata namin ang garden na puno ng alitaptap at tinawag pa namin itong garden of eden. however, i guess hindi pabor sa akin ang klaseng ito.

i saw him talking to Quinley. i guess siya ang partner nito. i have no objections but i do wish na ako ang nasa katayuan ni Quinley.

"so now that you have a partner, you'll now proceed to your designated training place. maaaring matrigger ang kapangyarihan niyo if either you are in danger, you are in the right place, or if you feel so emotional kaya ganon ang gagawin natin. it is up to your partner kung papaano nila palalabasin ang kapangyarihan niyo. i will be supervising one pair today while the others would train on their own. bukas naman ay another pair ang isusupervise ko and the rotation would follow until all of you have discovered their abilities." nakapamewang na nagbigay ng instructions ang trainer. sumagot naman kami at saka na kami pinapunta sa kanya kanyang training grounds.

lumingon ako saglit sa gawi ni Kael but he's busy talking to Quinley. I guess it's a one sided crush then? sino bang niloloko ko?
