I felt his fangs digging into my flesh once again. It hurt. Then suddenly he pulled back to stare at me.

"You have no where to go, correct?"

"Not anymore." I muttered.

"How would you like it if I were to turn you into a vampire? You would be my servant, and I am your master. Even now, you are my servant because I have bitten you. But would you like to live forever? To have superhuman powers? And to be a monster?"

"No!" I cried in terror. "I don't want to be like you!"

"I'm sorry to say, you don't have a choice in the matter. Your parents are dead. How will you explain that to the authorities? How will you explain the fact that they have bite marks, that they've been sucked dry? Soon, people will come, wondering what happened. And they will see the corpses. And they will see you still alive. They will assume you murdered them. I suggest you come with me."

From his tone of voice, I knew it wasn't just a suggestion, but a command. I nodded.

"Take me away from here."

His hand slid over my eyes. I suddenly felt sleepy, my eyes sliding closed against my will. And everything went black.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I woke up to see someone sitting on a chair nearby. The bed I was lying in was incredibly comfortable, making it difficult to keep my eyes open.

"Raven?"

He looked up. A pleased expression crossed his face. "Good, you're up. Let's go."

He grabbed my hand, dragging me out of the bed. I groaned, wanting to sleep some more.

"I will be turning you into a vampire, Marie."

He fell silent, letting that thought sink into my mind.

"It doesn't matter." I finally said. "I just don't want to kill anyone."

"Don't worry. I am your master. I will make sure you don't kill anyone."

We walked out the front door. I turned back and gasped at the sight. "A mansion! Medieval castle! Where are we?"

"You are right. This is my mansion. And we are in the middle of nowhere. Even if a human were to stumble upon this place, magic will make them always turn around, facing the direction they had come. As you can see, the forest and mountains surrounding us make it hard to find this place to begin with. You are safe here, Marie."

Suddenly he picked me up and jumped. We were dozens of feet in the sky and I could see out for miles. My breath left my lungs in a whoosh as we landed on the roof of the castle. It was a full moon and the wind was blowing, clouds spotting the starry night sky.

Raven met my eyes. I realized his eyes were green. I guess those were the original color, until he let his vampire side take over and they turned red. Like they were now. They were so hypnotizing.... I could stare for hours.

"I will turn you into a vampire. It will hurt at first. After all, my venom will have to take over every cell in your body. It will cleanse out anything you don't need. Then you will grow fangs and red eyes. Everything else will come naturally as you spend more time as a vampire."

I nodded slowly. Was this really necessary? Couldn't I stay human? But then I realized I would rather be a vampire. Living as a human, with a vampire? Out of the question. He would kill me someday. It would be better this way.

He gripped my shoulders roughly and brought his fangs down to my neck. I faced the sky as he drank my blood, letting the peace of the area wash over me. It hurt, but I ignored the feeling because he was right. It felt good. And yet, I felt digusted with myself that I thought that. Hatred flowed through me for the man standing in front of me. He had brutally murdered my family. He had changed my life forever. And now, he was about to turn me into a vampire.

He pulled back and I stared into those blood red eyes.

"I'm sorry that you hate me." he said. My eyes grew wide as I stared at him in shock. "I could taste it in your blood. The first time, I could taste the equal resentment and love for your parents. I hope that maybe you will learn to not hate me for this."

He brought his wrist to his lips and drank his own blood. But I noticed he didn't swallow, so he was keeping it in his mouth. He bit me again, and I felt something being pushed into me, kind of like a vaccination.

My heart beat faster as I realized that his blood was running in my veins. He pulled back again, then bit deeper into his wrist. Then he shoved it against my mouth.

"Drink."

My eyes widened and I choked against the taste but he simply gripped the back of my head and pushed his wrist forward. I closed my lips over the bite and drank as he ordered. The blood burned, blazing a poisonous trail inside me. My heart pounded harder, forcing the blood to circulate. I continued to drink, feeling it burn its way through every inch of me.

That's when the pain began. I stopped drinking and let out an agonized scream.

"Keep drinking." he commanded, his eyes hard. "The more you have in your body, the faster it will be over."

I gripped his arm and this time, I bit into him. Although it had little effect since I had no fangs. I heard him chuckle at my attempt to bite. But I just needed a way to ignore the pain. I continued to drink, gulping it in despite the horrible taste.

Suddenly, I have no idea when, it slowly began to taste more and more delicious. Pain exploded in my mouth and I stopped, falling back. He leaned forward, catching me. I felt something push its way past my gums. My own blood was all over my mouth because of that. I brought a finger up to one of my newly grown fangs. I pricked my finger and I stared at the oozing drop of blood.

The pain of the transformation was slowly receding. And in its place was a terrible, agonizing hunger. Everything was in a tint of red, and yet I could see everything clearly in the dark. I stared into Raven's eyes and I could see my reflection in them. My eyes were red.

Suddenly I gasped as the hunger grew and grew. My hunger for blood. I gripped my throat, hoping that would calm it down. Of course it didn't. Only one thing would satisfy it.

The blood of the man standing in front of me.

I tackled him again. We both fell, me on top. Pinning his hands to the ground, I brought my lips to his neck and ran my tongue along the vein. What was I doing? I don't even know anymore. The monster had taken over.

I bit down relentlessly, gulping down the blood. It was thick, amazingly thick. Thicker than water. Blood is thick. And red. And delicious.

It disgusts me.

I'm a monster.
