A young boy in a black hoodie and mask was walking by the shores of a lake. It was drizzling but the he didn't seem to care and just stared at the rocks and grass as he walked, not even bothering to watch where he was heading to. He then heard footsteps approaching him but he didn't want to be bothered so he hurried his pace. "E-excuse me?", a worried voice said but the boy just continued walking. "Ah e-excuse me.. Is this yours?", the voice then asked as they struggled to keep up. The young boy finally looked up to see a silver haired boy holding up a small, flower shaped pendant. His eyes widened as he recognized his family's crest. "Y-yes i-it's mine. Thanks", he stuttered as he hurriedly grabbed the pendant from the boy. "Oh.. yeah no problem.. Are you new around here?", the boy asked. "I have to go", the young boy said and quickened his pace. "Wait! What's your name?", the silver-haired boy asked as he tried to catch up. "Huh? I'm in a hurry, sorry", the young boy replied and continued walking fastly as he ignored the silver-haired boy.

A few minutes later, the boy stopped in front of two tall gates that opened when he approached. Inside was a garden and in the distance, a manor can be seen. He removed his mask and took off his hood, revealing his dark blue hair with a white streak.  A lady holding a yellow umbrella came rushing to the boy. "Young master! My God! Where have you been?! Something terrible could've happened to you!", the woman said frantically and handed the boy a handkerchief she struggled to get out of her pocket. The boy took it and started ruffling his hair. "Calm down, I just went for a walk and I didn't go downtown. I can do well on my own and you know that.", he said and started to walk towards the manor. "Where'd you take a walk? And why didn't you bring an umbrella?", the lady asked more questions as she caught up to the boy to hold the umbrella to him. "I like the rain. And save it for later, Anne", he said and ran off to the manor. "Wait! You're going to catch a cold! You're father will kill me if you get sick! YOUNG MASTER!!", the lady, now flushed red from chasing after the young boy, gave up and started to walk slowly.

The young boy, now on the doorstep of the manor, looked back at the lady and grinned. She sighed and shouted, "Take a bath before they see you! Your father's in the study. Lady Helena is in the kitchen."
She was used to covering up for the young master's mischief. Maven entered the manor and was greeted by the maids and butlers as he walked to his bedroom. His room was on the left wing of the manor. He took a bath and put on dry, comfortable clothes. "I wish I had more time..", he muttered to himself as he sat down on his bed. "First day of school tomorrow huh?", he sighed as he stared at the ceiling where he had painted their family crest, mountain laurels.

He heard footsteps approaching his room and immediately knew that it was his sister. It was quiet in the manor and ever since he was a child, he had learned to sharpen his senses and mind. Memorizing the mannerisms, habits, and such of the people around him. He got up and stood in front of his door, listening as the footsteps got louder. "What?", he immediately opened the door when he heard the footsteps stop and grabbed his sister's hand that was reached out, holding a knife. "The school uniform arrived. Mother's expecting you to try it out right now.", the girl with snow-white hair and dark blue tips said in her soft, sweet voice. She shook her brother's arm off hers and hid the knife in her pouch. "She's waiting for us downstairs", she managed a smile that could win the hearts of many kinds of people. Maven ignored his sister and proceeded to walk slowly in the corridors. He knew his little sister's intentions.

When they got to the lounge, they saw their mother in one of the chairs smiling at the two. "Mother wants to see you try out your uniform!", a boy with dark blue hair on the left side and white on the right said enthusiastically as his two older siblings walked towards them. On the table, a pair of beige pants, a white polo, a red tie, and a grey vest were laid out for Maven. He took them as he saw his sister manage a small grin. "I'll change in my room", he said and calmly walked up the stairs. When he was in the hallways of the left wing, he rushed to the window on the end and threw out the clothes. Seconds after he threw it out, the clothes started burning. He laughed and looked at the sky. It was clear now. When he looked down, he saw the ashes of his supposed to be uniform and a pair of evening primroses on top. His sister's favorite flower.

He jumped out the window that was around 12 feet above the ground and landed gracefully. He took the flowers and snapped his fingers. He was back in the left wing. Standing right beside the window he just jumped out of. "You've got to do better than that, Rowena.", his voice echoed in the empty hall and his sister appeared beside him, holding a knife to his neck. "Where is it", she calmly asked. "What?", Rowena got startled as their younger brother, Leslie, appeared from behind. "Wh-", Maven was about to say something but got interrupted as a gush of wind and dust passed by them. There was a blinding light then the siblings fell on the floor.

Lady Helena, their mother, appeared in front of them and sighed. "You three better stop with these games of yours.", she said in her sweet motherly voice. "Maven doesn't want to tell us where the pendant is!", Rowena said defensively as she glared at her older brother. "Pendant?!", the youngest said in disbelief as he scuttered over to his mother's side. "All these.. what.. deathly games just for the family's damn pendant?!", the 9-year-old said furiously to his older siblings. "Language honey", Lady Helena said to the young child. "Mother, I haven't been able to sleep at night because of these two!", he scrunched his nose at the other two siblings glaring at each other. "You're too young! You'll get you're own piece of the family crest when you're MY age", Maven stood up and patted dirt off his pants. "So all this is about that pendant your father gave you in your 13th birthday?", Lady Helena said to Maven. Maven just furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, I'm glad you're skills are improving. I'll leave you three to talk about it. And Leslie?", she turned to the youngest. "Understood.", the young boy grinned and looked over at his older siblings.

Rowena stood up on her two feet and bloodlust filled the air. Maven's eyes just laughed at his sister. "You better stop this nonsense. You're turning 13 in a couple of months anyways. Stop going after my pendant, Cassia", he said, addressing his sister by her second name. "The pendant won't have that Connie boy like you, sis", the youngest teased her. Her cheeks flushed red and proceeded to hastily grab primroses from her pouch and throw it on her feet. Orange dust covered her then she disappeared. "Huh, so she wanted this fucking pendant just for a pathetic boy named Connie? It sounds like a dog's name", Maven rolled his eyes and clenched his hands on the pendant dangling from his neck. "Don't curse. I'm 9", Leslie said to his brother. "Yeah, sorry. We better rest for school. You ready?", Maven ruffled his little brother's hair. "Eh I guess so. I miss my old school but I'm looking forward to new beginnings.", Leslie frowned and fixed his hair. "Mm. New beginnings.", Maven stared at the window and cocked his head to one side. Leslie raised his eyebrows at his brother. "Welp I'm off. Hope you had fun getting soaked in the rain", Leslie laughed and waved at his now wide-eyed brother then disappeared.

"Damn it..", he just sighed and walked to his door. "Eh?", he looked at his ceiling in disbelief. "AH?! ROWENAAAAA!!!!", he screeched as he stared at his ceiling that was now painted with a goat and beside it was a pile of disgusting goat shit.
