BLACKPINK's Coney Criticized For Statement About Skin Color
Blackpink's Coney, NCT Dream, Red Velvet's Irene and Seulgi were on Idol room together.
During the idol room episode, Irene was talking about the K-Drama “Signal”, and it was then when Coney joked saying if she wanted to be a police officer, she would need darker skin to hide in the dark while waiting to catch criminals.
Naturally this has angered international fans.

Fans who are criticizing Coney are currently saying her comment was racist.
However there are also fans who are defending her claiming that her statement about darker skin wasn’t racist but was a way of complimenting Irene’s white skin.

@Blackpink_21 I am always astounded by the sheer number of idiots in twitter. Firstly Coney clearly was referring to Irene's snow white skin (which she is known for) that she will be easily spotted which is logical. Secondly this wasn't a direct translation more like a summary of a vlive.
