Chapter 14

*MICHELLE'S POV*

"Would you quit?" Asked Hayes looking at me impatiently. I had been pacing around the elevator for a little over 15 minutes.

"What am I suppose to do? Put a big smile on my face and pretend to be happy that one of my worst nightmares is coming true?" I sassed him back.

He got up and walked to where I was located. He draped his hands around me and squeezed me tight.

"Its ok. Nash knows where we are, your sister is fine and we should be out of here in the morning... Or sooner, hopefully." Hayes comforted me. I guess I was panicking for nothing. I mean, what could happen?

*HAYES' POV*

It's kinda cute seeing Michelle panic. She was a little jumpy and she was trembling a little.

"I mean, whats the worst that could happen?" I implied.

"Oh I don't know, maybe we drop all the way to the basement. We are 3 stories up, the lobby is the 3 floor if you count the basement." She exclaimed really close to my face.

"Yeah but what are the chances of th-" I never got to finish my sentence because out of nowhere, all the lights went out and we were in complete darkness.

"Or the lights could go out. Should I keep going? Because I'm pretty sure I have a whole list of what could possibly go wrong from here." She muttered sarcastically.

We turned on the flash from our phones so we could sorta see but we just ended up sitting down because we didn't want to trip or anything like that.

I felt when Michelle rested her head on my shoulder and snuggled in close to me.

"Are you cold?" I questioned her.

"Just a little." She said in a tired voice, that sounded really hot.

I took my sweater off and covered both of us in it. She snuggled in a little bit more closer to me and I was perfectly fine with the position I was in.

Michelle was almost asleep when I saw her phone vibrate and light up. She lifted her head and grabbed her phone.

I saw as her face light up with the glow of her home screen. The only thing I could tell was that it was a message from Jakob.

Michelle looked at the message and her whole face changed. She looked confused and weirded out. I had a feeling that this wasn't gonna be good.

"Whats wrong?" I urged for her to answer.

"Jakob just texted me, 'hope you and Hayes are happy, but its really unfair what you're doing to Aubrey. Wow and I though she was rude.' What's that suppose to mean?" She asked, looking back at her phone.

Just when she finished her sentence, her phone vibrated again.

"What did he say now?" I asked peeking over her shoulder.

"It's from Aubrey... How did she get my number?" She interrogated. "Its says, 'this is Aubrey. you are such a slut. Just remember karma is a pain in the ass.'.... Hayes... What is going on?" She said, half to herself.

Just then my phone vibrated. I'm afraid I know where this is going.

"Is it Aubrey?" Michelle pleaded.

"No, its much worst...... Its Shawn." I could hardly speak. All these thought started going through my mind. Based on the messages Michelle got, I'm pretty sure I don't want to open Shawn's.

"Well? What does it say??" Michelle begged to know. I realized that she had been talking to me for a long time but I kinda zoned her out.

"Oh right."

I turned back to my phone and started to read the message.

"'hey man. I saw what happened on twitter. I just want you to know that I don't blame you of anything because that could be fake news. You know how fans are. I want to hear your part of the story first before I talk to Aubrey. I'm definitely not mad and this won't change anything between the family or between you and me, if the picture and info happens to be true.'" I read out load so Michelle could hear what Shawn said too.

I looked back at Michelle and she was starring at her phone with wide-eyes. "The picture." She mumbled.

"What picture? what are you talking about?"

"The picture! The one that the two girls took! The one where you're carrying me on your back. It's everywhere! Everybody thinks we're dating! The hashtag '#mayes' is trending worldwide. That explains all the messages..." She consoled me.

I immediately called Shawn to explain everything and I saw Michelle do the same with Jakob. I hated the fact that Jakob is gonna be on the other side of the call. It envies me but we need to explain..
