Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.

I sat uncomfortably under the harsh sun. My blood felt like it was literally boiling. The air felt stagnant and dry with every breath I took. But, I continued to wait. Sitting on the grassy ground, I huffed in annoyance. The sun let it be known of it's appearance. Trying to ignore the obnoxious sun, I carefully played with the delicate petals of a silk tree flower that was shyly blooming next to me. The thin but soft bristles put me at ease for a few seconds, but the punishment from the sun always made it back to my top priority in my mind. I wanted to moan and complain, but I decided to suck it up for once. Though I could pass out any second, love was in this hot air. I looked over to see Yuu talking to a relatively tall man. The man looked down at Yuu with his signature calming smile plastered on his face as he watched Yuu turn into an anxious mess. He was a Nolder Elf, standing at 7 feet. His hair was slick back and blonde and his eyes were a misty bluish grey color. His name was Camrel Neven, a fellow knight and the love of Yuu's life. Camrel doesn't necessarily know that yet but Yuu also doesn't want to make a move. Which is why I'm here, under the sun having a heat stroke. This was the many Cons of being a "wingman". I had to save this hopeless boy if something were to happen and I had to jump in.
Looking at their exchange made me smile to myself. Yuu was so much shorter than Camrel and it was evident that it intimidated him. Yuu constantly fidgeted with his fingers and avoiding eye contact with Camrel. There was a special nervous tic Yuu would do when his pointy ears would twitch uncontrollably. You'd probably won't notice if you weren't paying attention to him, but they way Camrel was enamored with everything Yuu did there's a high chance that he's aware of the eye twitch. Im no love doctor, but im positive the feelings are mutual.a Nothing really pressures Yuu, he was areally strong-willed person.
Though, when it came to him? His knees will buckle in an instant and he'll try to escape. But thanks to me, I constantly remind him to follow his heart. And seeing him doing so made my own heart warm. After a while of watching the lovebirds talk, eventually Yuu said his goodbyes and ran his way towards me. I stood up and brushed the stray shards of grass on my attire. "So!" I smiled at my friend as we started to walk back to the castle "How did it go with you and your boyfriend?" Yuu scoffed. "Shut up, I don't even know if he likes boys" A hint of sadness washed over his face. I playfully elbowed him in his side "Don't say that! You wont know unless you ask him!"
This made Yuu softly chuckle to himself, but he didn't respond. I wasn't necessarily sure how to cheer people up, thanks mom and dad for not showing me basic communication skills. The walk back to the castle was quiet one. We've never had a dull moment with each other but here we are. I took minimal glances towards the quiet boy walking next to me. He genuinely seemed sad of the possibility of a one sided relationship. "I assure you it's going to be oka-" The sound of a staff hitting the ground caught my attention as that was the way the guards standing outside of the castle would greet the royalty. Obnoxious if you think about it. Because I was side tracked, it was too late for me to finish what I was going to say. Once walking in the castle, I let out a strained groan. The castle was humid, it's like I couldn't escape the heat if I wanted to. "Is everything alright?" Yuu asked me. I looked at him before I answered "No, it's hot everywhere" I began to complained. Yuu didn't hesitate to agree with me. Good thing I wasn't the only one who was having a personal battle with the heat. We reached to stairs that lead to the second floor of the castle and properly turned to each other.
"You ready?" I was nervous for the future events that were about to happen. Today was the day I was going to ask my parents for their permission to become an explorer beside the Everstone family. I already knew that they were going to say no but maybe if I'm annoying enough, they'll cave in. That was my plan, anyways. I smiled at Yuu with courage "You betcha I'm ready!" We tussled with eachother's hair before we say our goodbyes like we usually do. I turned around and raced up the stairs. I look a small glance behind me and Yuu was waving at me. "You got this!" he shouted in my direction. His last bit of motivation made me pumped for what I'm getting myself into.
