The cute old couple is back around the same time, buys the same order, and sits at the same spot.
I only started working at this coffee shop a few months ago and up to now, they have yet to miss a day to come here. I serve them their coffee and three muffins and they enjoy themselves for an hour or so until leaving.
They are very kind. They'll spark up a conversation with me sometimes and even leave a huge tip.
They are one of the few customers we get here. There are not that many people in this small town. That's what I love the most growing up here. I know practically everyone, it's quiet, and there are very few visitors that come here. The ones that do just stop at a hotel then get back to the road.
The old couple just left. I walk to their table at the back of the room by a window and pick up the two cups and plate. Once again, they left a 10 dollar bill tip and I gratefully take it and put it in my back pocket.
It's quiet once more and I can hear the peaceful chirping of the morning birds. It's just me here. My manager doesn't show up until later along the day and my coworker rarely ever shows up.
I don't mind. I can catch up on some sleep. Although, I should probably call my best friend Sam. I know he's probably sleeping and need to get to his job at the gas station.
I pull out my phone and dial Sam's number while leaning my back against the counter and facing away from the door.
The phone rings twice before Sam picks up. "Gabe, you're too late. I'm already at work."
"Oh, so you actually listened to your alarm this time? I'm surprised." I chuckled.
"Yeah, I'm going to ignore that sarcasm because you won't believe what I saw here." He said excitedly.
"Okay, wha-" Before I could ask, he interrupted.
"Second I checked in, I saw this really expensive looking car roll up to one of the gas pumps. Dude, it was practically dripping with money. The red car didn't have a scratch or a dent anywhere. Not even a bug splatter." He rushes.
"That's cool I guess but what-" He interrupts me once more.
"That's not even the best part. The best part was the hottie that got out of the car. She was... like a damn model. Like a porn star. She was hot. Smoking fucking hot." He exclaimed.
This caught my attention.
"Is she still there? Did you talk to her?" I asked
" Nah, she left like half an hour ago. She only pumped then left. Not sparing even me a glace and you know I'm hot."
I snorted at his comment then continued,"That's too bad I didn't get to see. I bet she would have been a sight for sore eyes."
I heard the bell to the door chime which indicated a customer walked in.
Sam continues talking, " I can sort of describe her to you. She had a red short shirt, black tight jeans that went all the way to her-" he continues describing as I turn around to serve the customer.
She wasn't in front of the counter but across the room, at a table away from the window the old couple sits by.
She was, for lack of better words, an absolute beauty. She took my very breath away at the mere glance at her. She sat waiting for any customer service and unfortunately, I was the only one here to give such.
