"Mom are you serious?" I groaned for about the tenth time since I heard the news.
"Yes Alexandra, now stop asking before I slap you." My mother said, pausing washing the dishes to turn around and face me. I swung myself onto the counter, reaching for a delicious looking lemon tart sitting way too close for me not to grab it. Mom slapped my hand away without even turning her head, and I wondered not for the first time if she really did have eyes in the back of her head.
"Mom." I started, scooching closer to her. "I have never even met grandma Delly before, and you expect me to give up my room for her?"
"Well for starters, you're not giving up your room.. You'll be sharing it with her." She smirked at me and i decided I needed to make my argument stronger.
"You know I already made plans with Piper for the Christmas break, and you would want me to have fun, wouldn't you?"
"Well, grandma Delly is family, and the holidays are about spending quality time with your family members. In other words, suck it up buttercup." She patted my head mockingly before leaving the room, making me scowl even more. This was going to be a looong 2 weeks.
