CHAPTER FIVE
CHAPTER FIVE
CHAPTER FIVECECILIA WAS SHUFFLING FILES in her pale hands when her focus was shifted from her paper work to the dark headed girl standing in front of her desk. Cecilia was finally starting to get the hang of things, she thought. Sure, the paper work was dreadful, but her love for this job was growing non-stop. Her love for her team was growing as well.
"We got a case." Prentiss tapped on Cecilia's desk as she delivered the message from Hotch. "We don't have time for the briefing room, so we will go over it on the plane."
"Alright." Cecilia softly spoke. "Would you like to ride with me?"
"Yeah, of course!" The taller girl's smile widened. "Should I tell JJ we are carpooling?"
"Hell yeah, maybe we can do some car-karaoke on the way to another dreadful day of our lives." Cecilia laughed with Emily as they separated to grab their go-bags, and for Emily to notify the blonde that Cecilia was driving.
After grabbing her third coffee Cecilia walked over to the elevator to wait for the girls, her flat-footed boots clunking against the hard floor of the building. She tried to walk softer, as to not distract any agents. Her efforts failed, she noticed as Doctor Reid lifted his head to make eye contact. She smiled at him softly, to which he returned the gesture. She turned her head to continue walking, not noticing him shortly following after her.
Once she was at the elevator she turned around, eyes widening when the boy was right behind her. She slid to her right to move out of his way, but he didn't make any attempts to step forward.
"Hi." His smooth and quiet voice rang sweetly through her eardrums.
"Hello, Doctor." She spoke to him, having to lift her head slightly to be at his eye level.
"Did you happen to bring an extra book?" He rubbed his neck as he asked the girl a simple question. "I forgot mine."
"I have an extra one actually! You're lucky I brought two." She beamed at the boy as she dug a hand into her go-bag. "I have 'The Fisher King' and 'In the Tall Grass' you can borrow either, though."
"Which one would you prefer?" He asked softly as he scanned the novels in her hands. He loved 'The Fisher King', so he hoped it wasn't her pick, but he also would respect her for it.
"If I'm being honest, I'm in a Stephen King mood, but I'll make an exception for you if you want it." She smiled up at him teasingly.
"You can keep it." He softly chuckled. "I'll take Fisher King."
"Good." She passed him the book, their fingers brushing together softly as he took it out of her grasp.
"Do you know where the case is by any chance?" She inquired to the boy.
