The following are a few flims I'd recommend every Indian to watch. Almost all of them are based on true events.
1. The Tashkent Files
A very very underrated movie. The plot is so well laid and researched. The movie leaves you to wonder about the present state of our nation. I'd particularly recommend the youth of India to watch this one. A terrific movie about a case that was never solved!
If I am right, this one is available on OZEE.
2. Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran
It's a shame that most Indians have no idea about the event it's based on. I was also pretty unaware about our country's milestone achievements until I actually saw this one. It's an entertaining narration of a milestone event, where India emerges as a nuclear power.
Available on Zee5 and Netflix. (Not sure if it's on Amazon)
3. Mission Mangal
A group of scientists at ISRO battle in their personal and professional lives and work tirelessly towards their only motive, the Mars Orbiter Mission. Although it is not very scientific, it is a must watch to know about India's progress and achievement in the Space Domain.
Available on Disney+Hotstar
4. URI - The Surgical Strike
Watch it, if you still haven't after hearing India's roar, How is the Josh? . I don't have to say much here.
Available on Zee5
5. Raazi
The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's 2008 novel Calking Sehmat, a of an Indian (RAW) agent who, upon her father's request, is married into a family of military officials in to relay information. A wonderful take on patriotism. The soundtrack will leave you with goosebumps just as the plot!
Available on Amazon Prime.
6. Rustom
Rustom, a naval officer, shares a happy relationship with his wife Cynthia. Soon, he discovers her affair with Vikram, a close friend, and is accused of murdering him. The story leaves you with a very strong message.
The film is loosely based on the K. M. Nanavati v. State of Maharashtra court case.
Available on Netflix.
Other noteworthy movies under this category can be:
1. India's Most Wanted ( it's very very diluted compared to above)
2. I have heard that Gold is good. Haven't watched dit yet so it's not on the list up.
3. Again, I have been told Kesari is good, but haven't watched it yet
Would love to know your recommendations or thoughts on the above mentioned movies.
