"Sweetie, I don't know why you dress like that. You have so much potential." Brenda said over the hum of the running water.
"Dress like what?" I snapped.
I was already in a bad mood from having to deal with Niall all week. And trying to keep his friends piercing green eyes from clouding my mind all day. The last thing I wanted to do was discuss my wardrobe over breakfast.
"Oh you know, all of the baggy sweaters." She chuckled.
I looked at her tight black dress and then at my outfit.
"What's wrong with them?" I said looking down.
"They're just not very flattering to your body type." She looked at me expectantly.
I stared at her blankly. Was she expecting a high five or something?
"Nevermind, I have good news." She smiled with a full set of white teeth. "Me and your father are going out of town! You an Niall will have some time to bond. I think he's inviting some friends to hang out."
My face paled as she pulled me into a tight embrace. After a few seconds of silence and me not responding to her hug. She pulled away.
"Isn't that great?" She smiled widely again.
For once I actually felt bad for her. She genuinely thought that Niall and I were gonna "bond."
I gave a side smile to her and nodded.
"But we don't leave until around 7 tonight." She said her eyes twinkling.
"You should let me take you shopping, you've been wearing the same hoodie and sweats for 3 days." She said cautiously.
"It's not like I go out much." I shrugged.
"Well then at least let me buy you a few new pairs. You haven't left the house since you got here." She sighed out.
That's one of the things I liked about Brenda. She was allready successful on her own, she didn't need my dad for money.
I didn't know how to say no without being mean, so I just nodded.
"Great! Go get ready." She said happily.
If by "go get ready" she meant put on shoes then I totally nailed it.
I walked down the stairs and sighed when I saw Niall and his friend by the door. Niall looked handsome with a light blue button up shirt and dark jeans, but his friend was the one who caught my eye.
He was wearing black skinny jeans and a black jacket with a white shirt underneath, completely nailing the whole bad boy look. His eyes looked so vibrant and I couldn't help but admire him. I adverted my eyes after realizing I had been looking at him for a while.
"Where's Brenda?" I said shifting awkwardly on my feet.
"She gave me her credit card to take you shopping and 50 bucks if me and Harry watched you. She wanted to make sure I told you money isn't an issue." He shrugged.
His names Harry. That's all I got out of that.
"Oh um okay, so she's not coming?" I asked.
"No shit Sherlock, now are you coming?" Harry said impatiently.
I was surprised by the way his voice was both gruff and smooth at the same time. And to top it off he had an accent to die for. But Jeez did he sound like a jerk.
