The remnants of a totalitarian government has caused a dystopian reality. With barely a semblance of structure left, people are left to scavenge, hurt and even kill to survive. Radioactive decay is killing everyone slowly, the wasteland of society leaving no one untouched.

Failed experiments roam about, machines of destruction and terror. Created from the bodies of humans, these ex-government puppets are the nuke shells of society, a reminder that even in death, no one is safe. Only a handful of experiments have been successful, and those people have drawbacks to their enhanced bodies. They are called the Codes, named after their identifiable serial numbers on the back of their necks. Each Code has a dominant trait enhanced by the experimentation, such as leg strength, real-life aim-bot, night vision. They are the cocaine of society; illegal, frowned upon by many, but desperately wanted.

Codes take refuge from the remaining government and policing bodies in the plethora of gangs and syndicates, often made by the youths of society. These youths having almost nothing to lose but each other, forming a network of loyal and fiercely protective makeshift families. With their childhoods taken away and their futures destroyed, there is nothing in this dystopia can give them their lives back. So they seek the thrills, recklessly exploring places they've always wanted to go to, doing things they've always wanted to do because life really is too short.

When rumours of a Code with the ability to perfectly throw it back emerges, the gangs are desperate to find them and win them over. The ability to use electromagnetic forcefields is just a plus.

AUTHORS NOTE

I'm so excited to write this !! I think it's going to be hella funny putting soft-ish (?) Haikyuu characters like Oikawa in boom boom environments.

I also love writing angst, so be aware :) for the most part, it will (hopefully) be an enjoyable journey. Also, in no way am I encouraging drug use or murder, please don't take this book too seriously. I recommend the readers to be 16+, but I know y'all thirsty anyway so just be careful!

Everyone in the story is aged up, around 19-23 years of age.
