Tsukishima checked his watch, he was about to leave the convenience store when Yamaguchi ran out of it, panting.

"S-sorry Tsuki! I didn't mean to be late, we finished only a few seconds ago!"

"Tch. Your lucky I waited here for you" Tsukishima said smugly, as they started walking back towards their neighborhood.

They both lived near each other, as they had grown up in the same street (canon information!), so they walked home together everyday.

"My jump float is doing a lot better though! And I can almost control exactly where it needs to be" Yamaguchi said, as Tsukishima stayed quiet.

They would walk together, but Yamaguchi did most of the talking, as Tsukishima likes to just listen to him. He remembered everything that the smaller teen said though, so even if it seemed like he was being ignored Yamaguchi knew he wasn't.

"I'm so excited for our next match! Even if it's a really long time from now, I really want to show everyone that I can be a reliable asset to the team" Yamaguchi said smiling.

Tsukishima nodded, his cheeks tinting a light pink as he looked over at Yamaguchi smiling.

"You seem quieter than usual.." Yamaguchi said, his smile fading and turning to a worried look as he turned his head towards Tsukishima's.

"I don't talk much in the first place. How could I be any quieter?" Tsukishima said, a little too harshly.

"Are you on edge about something?" Yamaguchi said, determined to get an answer.

Tsukishima stopped walking, and Yamaguchi stopped a little bit ahead of him and turned around so they were facing each other.

"Please? We're alone, you can tell me if somethings wrong" Yamaguchi said, a bit apprehensive since he usually didn't ask personal questions.

"I just have a lot on my mind. Come on let's keep walking" Tsukishima said, walking forward.

Yamaguchi grabbed his wrist, "are you sure?" He said looking at Tsukishima with a troubled look on his face.

"Yeah. Come on" Tsukishima said, shaking off Yamaguchi's hand and walking towards his house with Yamaguchi following behind.

"Bye Tsuki!" Yamaguchi said cheerfully as he waved to Tsukishima from his porch.

Tsukishima waved back, and walked to his house a bit farther down the street.

Yamaguchi sighed as he got in his bedroom and changed into more comfortable clothes to sleep in.

He sat in his bed for a bit but as he tried to fall asleep his thoughts consumed him.

Yamaguchi thoughts:
What's wrong with him? He's usually not so distant.

Was it something I did?

... did he find out about how I really feel about him?

Yamaguchi sighed heavily and pulled his blanket covering his face.

His thoughts wandered even deeper as he tried to fall asleep again.

Yamaguchi thoughts:
Does he not want to be friends with me anymore? Is this his way of brushing me off?

A lump in his throat became painfully noticeable as he tried to hold back tears from welling in his eyes.

Tsukishima was the only person who had gotten him through so many things in his life. If Tsukishima hadn't been by his side all this time he wouldn't be the person he is today.
