All the Most Beautiful Places

As Cory tied off the braid, I though about what he had been saying. Was I really ready to move past what happened, to trust again? I had asked that questions so many times in the past, and every time the answer was no. Yet this time it felt different, Cory felt different. I mean, maybe it is just that I just got cheated on again, and was just out of a relationship. Or maybe it is how he talks, the way he is genuinely concerned about how I am. The awesome music taste is a plus as well. I mean he got me in his bed after the first date, and he didn't try anything. He seems to be genuinely interested in my well being, instead of just trying to get in my pants. Maybe Elise really did have the right idea pointing him out to me. I'll have to take her out for coffee sometime as thanks, maybe point out a cute med student to her.

¨Well, I'm done,¨ Cory said pulling his hands away from my head. I looked up in the mirror, and smiled as I made eye contact with his reflection. ¨So, where are we headed today?¨

I laughed at my first thought. ¨I mean, I would say Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Medora, considering that is my favorite place in the world.¨

¨Well then why don't we go.¨

¨You must be joking,¨ I turned around to face him. ¨That is like 7 hours away.¨

¨Why would I be,¨ I looked into his eyes and saw that he was in fact telling the truth. ¨It's summer break Grace, we have all the time in the world.¨

"Well...." I smiled and stood up. "Guess we better get me back to my apartment so that I can pack."

Cory grabbed my hand and we headed to the door.

I am going to start writing some new chapters now and hope to have another chapter finished when I get back from State Fair (September 9th).
