Almost imperceptible-
Between the faint aroma of roasted peanuts,
and the aftertaste of Moroccan mint tea,
You make a request,
to dig deep into the sand-
so that we can unbury the memories of those days. But the graves are unmarked-
And,
My fingernails chip away,
only managing to tear down the wallpapers.Beneath the sand-
The walls rest- painted teal.We pause to appreciate the wallpapers,
Slowly caving into the impenetrable walls. While elsewhere,
lovers are standing at the edge of the milky way
Waiting to reunite in July,The corpses of our dreams,
are sinking elsewhere deep within Kadikoy-
returning to the alien queen.
