-like it was meant to be-

It has been a few months ever since Yuri and Yena met.

Since then, the two became really close, to the point where skinships are normal.

A new year has started. It's January. The flowers Yuri have planted at their frontyard already grew a little leaf. It's beautiful.

Christmas break is over, Yena's going back to school for a few weeks now.

The sun is starting set when Yena left the school. It's pretty cold even though December has ended.

Yena quickly opened their house door and as usual, called out for Yuri.

"Yuri?" Yena called as she threw her bag at the sofa. Tiredness eating her up.

"Jjoyul?" Yena called as small footsteps came running over her.

"Hey duckie." Yuri smiles as she hugged Yena.

And it seems like all Yena's stress went away.

It feels nice, but the thing is..

They normalize skinships, pet names but they are not in a relationship. No label.

It sucks.

The problem is both are real coward to ask each other out. And Yena have been waiting for Yuri's real reason why she escaped home.

Yes, Yena knew about Yuri escaping her home. She wants Yuri to tell her why, but she doesn't want to push the girl.

"How's school?" Yuri asked as she caressed Yena's temple.

"Tiring," Yena sighs as she hugs Yuri tighter, dipping her head on the younger's shoulder.

"Change your clothes,I cooked something for you." Yuri said biting her lips to stop the urge to kiss Yena's cheeks.

"Okay." Yena smiles as she run up to her room.

Yena's parents aren't home always. They are either at a work trip or staying at their friend's houses.

So it feels like Yena and Yuri have the house all by herself.

After a few minutes, Yena came down to the kitchen.

Yena's favourite foods are all at the table, making Yena smile.

"Uah, thank you for cooking these." Yena smiles as she tugs Yuri's arm to sit beside her.

"Always welcome, duckie."

So the two ate in silence, staring at each other's eyes or talking about how Yena's day went.

"Yena,tomorrow's a Saturday, right?" Yuri asked the obvious as Yena nodded.

"Yep, want to go somewhere?"

"Actually, yes. I want to go on a date with you." Yuri smiles as her eyes almost disappearing.

Date?

"I-if that is what you want.."

Yena's snores filled the room, her arms around Yuri's waist, securing the younger in her embrace.

Yuri's wide awake, thinking about the events that will happen tomorrow.

But she doesn't want that to eat up her mind, so she just stare at Yena.

The girl's nose is scrunched, seemingly deep in her dreams.

Yuri admires and will always admire Yena. Even though she'll be far, by the next day or two.

She have to go back anyways, this is not her home.

But with Yena, she feels safer than her own home.

She'll definitely remember this, Yena owns her heart anyways.

She's happy that they met. She wouldn't change a thing.

Yuri then caressed the girl's hair. Studying every aspects of Yena's face.

She's the most beautiful art Yuri ever saw.

So for today, she'll love Yena with all of her heart, yes, many said that we shouldn't give our all. But loving Yena, you couldn't help it.

She'll make the best memories of her life today, with the woman she loves.

She then kissed Yena's forehead, making the older girl move her head closer to Yuri.

"Yena? Come on wake up duckie." Yuri softly said as she smiles at Yena, but her eyes couldn't hide her sadness.

"Mhmm." Yena just hums, her eyes still closed.

"Yena...you said we'll go on a date." Yuri pouts as she stares at Yena's sleeping face.

Yena just nodded her head, making Yuri chuckle.

"Come on duckiiie," Yuri said but Yena didn't budge, instead she just holds onto Yuri's waist tighter.

Yuri then sighed and kissed Yena's forehead. Making Yena's eyes flutter open.

Forehead kisses are sentimental.

"There, you're awake." Yuri smiles as she stares at Yena's blushing face.

"G-good morning too." Yena smiles as she dips her face at Yuri's neck.

Yena's safe place.

"I'll go get ready, you should too. For today we'll make memories." Yuri smiles as a tear dropped from her doe eyes.

"Wait, are you okay? Why are you crying?" Yena asked as she sits up too, holding Yuri's arm to halt the girl.

"N-nothing. Some dust just got into my eyes." Yuri reasoned out as Yena, being clueless of what is about to happen, nodded.

We had each other like we are meant to be.
