It was a normal Saturday night, just like any other. You were sitting on your bed, listening to a vibey playlist, and watching the LED light strips changing colors over your head. Everything felt peaceful in the world, and you switched the song to your new favorite. As you crossed your legs, your body started to sway to the music. Your day was long working at the daycare, and you figured you could use a bit of practice.
Earlier that year, you noticed movement in some of your clothes that were hanging on the rack. You had thought it was the wind, but after a couple of hours of focus, you began to be able to move the hangers yourself. It took you by surprise at first, but after a few months of honing your abilities, it started to get easier and easier. You never used these abilities outside of your house, it was something you kept locked inside your one-bedroom apartment.
You had done the research, and you were never able to figure out if it was some sort of witchcraft, or maybe telekinesis that you were able to manipulate. Frankly, it didn't matter to you, but as long as you had control over yourself it was manageable. You pulled out a deck of cards and spread the deck across your bedsheets. Still swaying to the song that was playing, you began to pick up the cards with your abilities, imagining the air molecules that surrounded every atom of the cards and allowed them to fly above your head in your room. The motions followed the music, creating a sort of show for yourself to watch.
The cards expanded and contracted into beautiful circles. You had only recently been able to concentrate enough to pick all of them up at the same time. Earlier that year, it was difficult to expand your focus to engulf multiple objects, so you were already getting better. You added in the tapestry that hung on your wall, channeling the air to billow the corners and have it moving in wave-like motions. Your entire room seemed to be moving in waves, the air and the energy were engulfing you in a state of concentration and bliss.
Luckily, you lived by yourself, so it had become commonplace for you to open the refrigerator and pour yourself a glass of milk without leaving the couch. You were careful to keep these powers to yourself, no one else had to know about how different you were. In all your research, you were never able to meet anyone else who had powers that resembled the abilities you had, although that would have been nice so you would feel less alone. Your dad and your younger brother never had to know about how much of a freak you were. You had insisted on experiencing some strange incidents to your brother when it all started, just to see if he may have noticed anything similar himself, but your conversation was only met with skepticism and criticism.
A loud knock broke you out of your thoughts, and you peacefully slid the cards back into the box that was sitting on your duvet before standing to investigate. You made your way over to the front door and took a look outside of the peephole, seeing two men standing in the hallway dressed in suits. You pushed back a feeling of unease and opened the door, coming face to face with the men. They were about the same height, one seemed quite a bit younger than the other.
"Good evening, Y/N." The younger sneered, his eyes flashing black for a moment before taking a step into your apartment.
You yelped, sensing something malevolent about these men. His eyes were black, which insinuated nothing good. The one who hadn't spoken yet grabbed your right arm at the wrist to keep you from running away from them.
"You're going to be coming with us." He laughed, as you felt a strong blow delivered to the side of your head before everything went dark.
