The bell rang. It is the most awaited time that everyone is waiting to hear for us to get out and have our own social life with our friends and families but for me, it was just a normal day. My things were all packed and I started to listen to Adelle's playlist on YouTube while walking towards the gate. My fellows were having separate agendas. They were all talking together to discuss any activity that they can do on the weekend while waiting for someone to fetch them. But I am alone, holding my phone and will start to wait again for 20 minutes at the bus stop before I can take my ride home.
Adelle's music was still running in the background when I reached the bus stop. I opened my Instagram account and started browsing the app just to burn time. I saw a post from a girl who is the same age as mine for their last vacation trip in Hokkaido, Japan. She looked very happy for what they had experienced. Then I scrolled down, I saw another photo of a poor family in Africa begging for some water and food for their two year old kid. My heart felt bad for the family and I hoped someone helped them or had something after the photo became trending on Instagram. I switched to Twitter to check if there are tweets of my favorite singer. The tweet was all about her upcoming concert this September. I don't have enough money so I just hit like and retweeted it for some fans. There's also a tweet from the Weather Bureau. They reminded everyone to bring an umbrella or any coat for it will rain tomorrow.
I scroll and scroll and scroll and get bored. I switched to Facebook. I am not a Facebook fanatic but everyone is using this so I tried. I browse the app and check what stories will be there on my newsfeed. I saw a mixed genre of stories and they are all talking about economy's financial status, government projects, funny shared videos from my relatives using the app TikTok and there were also hate speech, rallies and news about terrorism. There was a lot to find out on this app.
My phone beeped and I got a message from my fellow in Flashat. He told me that we got the highest score on the previous activity so we will not take the exam anymore. I was so glad. Our hard work was rewarded and discussing together even our houses were far away was not a problem because we can study online using this app. I closed the app and checked YouTube and noticed that the last song was playing on the playlist. I also see the bus is coming. In just 20 minutes of my time and with my phone I have visited places to see others' situations, I got informed about news, politics, weather and public and most of all I was connected with everybody to share good news.
