I walked out of the building now in my normal clothes. Gabby was taking the second shift.
"Hey girls" Chad smiles joining us.
"Hey" we chirp then stop as we look over the golf course. Troy is with Sharpay doing golf i fold my arms and watch.
"That girls got more moves than a octopus in a wrestling match" Tay joined us.
"Nah he knows how to swim" Chad denies what we're all thinking
"yeah Troy can handle himself right Dani" i hum in response still watching them
"i did overhear him asking her opinion on his new Italian shoes" i look to one of my best friends
"he didn't ask me"
"so wake up sister! She's basically offering him a college education just to sing in the talent show." Tay stated
"Troy would never do that?" Chad scoffs
"you go eye's use them" she replies
"let's go eat" Gabby takes my arm and guides me away. i grab a sandwich and a bottle of water sitting down and sighing.
"is it bad that I'm actually starting to have doubts " i ask my best friends
"about what?" Gabby asks
"about all of this working here is great and getting some extra money in is awesome but Troy's changing and its bugging me. I love him and all but something is not settling right." i look down at my necklace and fiddle with it.
"look you have to be strong. You two are made for each other and none of Sharpay's schemes is going to mess with that." Tay rubbed my shoulder
"I wanted this to be the best first American summer. Its turning out to be a bust"
"and it will be i mean it can get better. You've had bad parts but it will get better." Gabby reassured
"Zeke, Troy wants Swiss"
"gotcha" Chad came over to us
"you know you were right, there is a guy out there that looks just like Troy Bolton but i have no idea who he really is" He grabbed a chair and joined us.
"Okay we have to be positive! It's just a phase" i chirped and finished my food. Once i was done i went to find my boyfriend who was playing one player basketball. He also had a red hawks jacket.
"look at you" he smiled noticing me "go team."
"yeah. Its a gift from the guys" he twirled around showing it of.
"the 'guys'?" i wondered then took the ball of him. "Oh those really tall dude's. Funny i thought the wildcats were 'the guys'" i took a shot and got it
"yeah, yeah look i gotta go in a minute but I'll be back in about an hour, I'll pick you up in my new truck and we'll go to a movie i promise" he bounce the ball back at me. i shook my head again with the promises.
"Promise is a really big word." i bounced it back
"yeah i know" i turned as he walked passed me
"besides I'm busy we have the staff baseball game after work remember. you 'promised' you'd play then talk me through it afterwards."
"right. right, baseball i will absolutely be there"
"you forgot didn't you" i scoffed
"no i just got the date mixed up. And I'm sorry i couldn't make lunch today. I just its been wild you know. I can't believe how things are working out here."
"yeah i can see, Italian gold shoes, new clothes, gold carts its crazy stuff. Hard to keep track of it all i bet. Oh it's okay about the sorry because I'm getting used to it, there are plenty of more times where you'll arrange something and then forget but don't worry I'll have a backup plan just in case. "
"what's your point?"
"i doesn't seem like the new stuff that's causing the problem it's the new Troy."
"all right let see if Tiger Woods still has a jump shot" Chad and the others arrived
"hey, hey. Bolton come on!" i rolled my eyes he turned round
"hey!" he held is hand up
"why don't you tell them to come over here and mix it up. we'll show 'em some game" Zeke suggested
"you know i don't think that's how they role"
"not how they 'roll'" Chad questions
"no, no, no, that's not what i meant. I just think its a closed practice. Sorry"
"wow well maybe you could get us a video" Chad replied
"or the time of day" i add he looks at me with a sad expression my hope of things getting better fading away.
"Bolton! Come on"
"But hey you said we could play some two on two before the game." Zeke said
"i know i know man I'm sorry"
"yeah Zeke that was so yesterday when we were all a team!" Chad calls making troy look back
"hey Bolton! that's my ball" Troy looked at the ball before throwing it back. and he got in the car.
"Would you guys be mad at me if i asked him to get me one of those cool red hawks jackets?" Jason asked we looked at him then started leaving.
