Chapter 3:

The Shift

As my eyes flickered open everything was blury, it looked like I was trying to see through thick fog. As things became clearer I saw someone standing at the foot of my bed. He was really tall but skinny, and his clothes were dirty. As I sat up slowly he said, "Hi my name is Lanxton, you feelin alright"? I tried to speak but for some reason my voice would not come. I saw a glass of water on a small table next to the bed and quickly drank it down. "Slow down there" said Lanxton. 

I put the glass down and tried to figure out what I was going to say and if this was someone I even wanted to talk too. He seemed chill enough and he didn't have a weapon pointed at me this time so I decided to give it a chance. He started walking around the bed slowly toward me and I was not sure what to do.
