Prologue

It was a bright mid summer day. The sun was shining brightly down on the young blonde girls head, as she and her little sister ran around the bright green garden. They were playing a game of tag before they had to go in to dinner to celebrate the older girls birthday. Her name was Luara Heartfeild and she couldn't be even more excited. That was because it was her 11th birthday. And on that day she was going to get her hogwarts letter. Oh she couldn't wait for it to happen, for their family owl Rosie, a Tawny owl with light brown feathers and white feathers surrounding her eyes, to swoop in and drop off her hogwarts letter. Just like her parents before her, who were both muggleborns, she wished to be hufflepuff. She loved the idea of being a hufflepuff because of how kind they were told to be. Plus she was always told that she had all the traits of being a hufflepuff, witch were patience, loyalty, and kindness. But for now all she had to worry about was getting her letter and making it into the best school of witch craft and wizardry. Hogwarts! And she would also get the best headmaster ever Albus Dumbledore.

"Girls its time go wash your hands and get ready!!" Aquila who was Luaras mom shouted at them through the kitchen window.

"Your it" Luara shouted at her little sister Lyra, as she ran into the house so she would not get tagged.

"No fair you are a cheater" Lyra said back in her screechy little girl voice.

Luara ran up the stairs to her and Lyras bathroom as she washed her hands as quickly as she could. That was because her mom was making her favorite meal chicken parmesan with corn and asparagus. Plus Rosie would swoop in a few minutes after dinner started and she would get her letter.

"Luara open the door I also need to wash my hands. I want foooood!!!" Lyra whined at her sister.

"Fine, fine come in and rember tag is over so you can't get me"

Luara opened the door to her little sister who at the time was only 8. Lyra had a sad expression on her face as she whined "but you cheated"

"Lyra no I didn't, it was fair game and I took the chance and you were just to slow. I am sorry maybe next time you might win. We will just have to see" Luara told Lyra as she looked at her sister with an apologetic look an her face.

"Ok, but you are gonna go away to hogwarts and then I won't have anyone to play with" Lyra responded with a sad look on her face as she washed her hands, while the thought of her sister leaving her made tears brim her eyes.

"Lyra I am always gonna be with you" Luara said pointing at her sister heart. "Plus I would never leave you forever because I love you. And thats what sisters do"

"Thank you Luara" Lyra said as she hugged her older sister.

"Ok now its time to go eat and I am starving marvin are you" Luara said as she took her little sister by the hand and dragged her down the stairs and to the dinner table.

"Took you girls long enough sit down and let's dig in" Gilbert said to his two young daughters. He was a middle aged man with blue eyes and dark hair as he sat at the table waiting patiently.

"Dear haven't you forgot something" Aquila said to her husband eyeing Luara. She was a middle aged women with blonde hair and dark blue eyes.

"Oh yes I forgot happy birthday my little wildflower, since you guys took so long you missed Rosie coming through the window. I believe this belongs to you" Gilbert said as he handed Luara a letter.

Luara sat down immediately and took the letter from her dads hand. On it is said

The 3rd bedroom on the second floor

As she opened the letter it read

We are pleased to say you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The term will start on September 1st. Enclosed in this letter is a supply list of what you will need for school.
Luaras face brightened as a wide smile grew on her face.
