Chapter 2: Oh My!

"WAKE UP" Miriam screamed as shook Luara awake.

"We're gonna be late and I am hungry" Sonya told them as she walked past them to grab some clothes.

"Ok I am up" Luara told the girls as she walked to go to the bathroom.

"Be fast please. I want some cereal" Sonya told Luara

"Ok ok, I get it I am going" Luara told her as she shut the bathroom door.

It was the first day back at hogwarts and they would be getting their schedules. Plus McGonagall would be telling them the secret announcement. Since it was not a school day Luara chose to wear a bright yellow sweater, black leggings, and a pair of white sneakers. She put on minimal makeup and her signature tinted red lip gloss. Luara decided to put up her blonde wavy hair up in a cute bun to finish the look. As Luara walked out she noticed that her friends were gone. As she looked down at her bed to notice her owl, Hootie, sitting there. She saw a note.

"Hi Hootie what do you have there for me" Luara told Hooty as she picked up the note.

But before she could read it, Hootie gave her a look. The owl wanted some food. So, Luara bent down and opened her trunk and grabbed her olws favorite treat, insect flaved owl treats. It was absolutely disgusting to Luara, but Hootie loved it. As the owl ate the treat Luara opened the window so Hootie could leave. As Luara once again picked the letter up to read it. She saw it was from Miriam.

Luara Sonya got Impatient and hungry. You know how she is when she's hungry. She ended up dragging us all down to the great hall. So, we are down there. So, please hurry up.

Luara chuckled knowing how Sonya could get when she's hungry. Luara picked up her wand, a redwood with a unicorn hair core, 10 3/4 in long, and slightly yielding flexibility. It had cute little flower details and vines. And walked out of her room and down to the common room. She waved hi to some of the new 1st years and walked out of the common room. As she walked to the great hall to get breakfast she passed several nervous 7th and 8th year students, but she decided it was nothing to worry about.

"Took you long enough I was starving" Sonya told Luara as she sat down next to her friends.

"Sorry we tried to make her wait, but you know Sonya" Ben told Luara.

"Well I am sorry I was hungry" Sonya told her as she stuffed eggs in her face.

"Its ok I get it you are always starving now pass me some Froot Loops and milk please" Luara responded to Miriam.

Luara got her food and started to eat. She had noticed she was pretty late to breakfast because Anna, Peter, Jane, and Ben were already done eating. Plus most people were already leaving. So, Luara ate as fast as she can and once she was done she noticed that the last none 7th and 8th years had finally left. Everyone was whispering and looking at McGonagall waiting for her to get up. Finally, she had stood up and walked up to the front of the great hall. Luara looked at her friends and they gave each other a reassuring look knowing it was time for them to finally figure out what she had to say.

"Ladies and Gentlemen listen up listen up. This news may be shocking to you and I would like to apologize in advance, because I tried everything I could to stop this from happening" McGonagall told them all, as all the students stated to worry. "You all know due to the war many magical lives were lost. And our population has took a big hit and dropped dramatically. Due to that the ministry of magic had made a new law. And that law is that all 7th and 8th year will be paired up and have to marry in a year. And then a year after that will have to have a child or be expecting" McGonagall said.
