hermione turned around with the pot in her hands, and pointed her wand at the pot and bowls and the pot tipped over the bowl and poured equal amounts into them. draco looked at her trying to decide how to talk to her but in the end they didn't speak the entire time while she ate and when hermione stood up she nodded and went to grab her bag and things and draco had an idea.

he looked at her and smirked, "Granger, i've liked you since i met you, even though i was a total prick" her face almost changed but she nodded and tried to go upstairs,

"Granger!" he barked, causing her to jump and drop one of her books, "after what I just said, you don't want to talk about it?" she shook her head and picked up her books and continued to walk upstairs.

draco sat back put his head in his hands and whispered to himself, "why is this happening to me" he got up to get his book and sat down on the couch and started to read. reading had always been a sort of release to him and it took his mind of things, but this time all he could think about was how he had be a total asshole. as the time went by his eyelids got heavy, and struggled to keep them open. "i think i'm just going to sleep down here tonight." draco whispered to himself

an hour after he had fallen asleep, hermione crept down the stairs to apologize to draco for punching him. "Malfoy?" her voice was small and cracked, and she wanted to get back to bed, "is anyone down her?" a grunt came from by the couchs and she pulled out her wand and whispered, "lumos" the beam of light fell across dracos peaceful face. "oh Draco" she walked towards him and put a blanket over his long body. as the blanket touched his skin he mumbled and hermione smiled.

as she walked back up to the stairs he spoke in barley a whisper, then "Granger?" she turned back around and said, "yes?"

"can you lay with me?"

she sighed and walked back and sat at the end of the couch where his legs ended, "malfoy! when did you grow so much?!" he chuckled and said, "I've been growing forever but, this last year i grew so much" hermione sighed and said, "i guess i didn't notice cause Harry, Ron and i, were all kind of watching for you to be a death eater." she looked down as a light blush spread across her cheeks. draco looked at the ground and felt his mark tingle, and he bit down on his tongue

how am i going to live like this?

hermione leaned back against the couch, "so your friends with blaise and pansy right?" he nodded and she smiled, "I've actually never really met them, could i meet them tomorrow?" draco debated weather letting her meet the people who had heared everything about how he felt about her for the past eight years. "yeah,i guess if you want to... but" he trailed off and she finished his sentence, "but they might not like me, yeah. yeah.but they should at least get used to me."

she crossed her arms and glared at the wall for a few minutes and then stood up, "i'm going to bed i'll see you in the morning." she started to walk off and draco started to speak, "can i-' "i don't really want a repeat of this morning so, no." and with that she went up the stairs.

as she was getting dressed she heard tapping on the window and she almost flew to it, hoping for it to be ginnys owl, camfrey. "as the owl flew in hermione saw that it wasn't Ginnys and she sighed. "i just guess i shouldn't get my hopes up." she muttered unwrapping the string from around the owls ankle.

"oh shit" she whispered to herself, opening the door. "Malfoy!" she shouted down the stairs receiving a low grunt, "what?" she stood in front of him with the letter in her hand, "an-owl-was at-my-window-so-I-opened-it-and-let-it-in-and-it-had-a-letter-so-i opened-it-and-it-was-from-blaise, im sorry for opening it, really"

he rolled his eyes and took the letter from her, sitting up, "you read a random letter from somebody you don't know? seriously i thought you would have learnt not to do that from the war." she scowled at him and strode back up the stairs without looking back or saying anything else except for "goodnight."
