After unpacking, arranging my room, having my dinner earlier than usual comprising of two beers and a regular pepperoni pizza, I slumped on my couch alone and texted Zayn. Jenna was still out with her friends and I didn't expect her come home early, which was a good thing. This place was beautiful and quiet. I liked it.
My phone rang and I was surprised to see his name flash on my screen.
"Oh hey."
I picked up after hesitating a little.
"Hey."
"So, guess where I am?"
I bit my lip anticipating he would get my location right. I smoothed my back and laid my head on one arm rest and my legs on the other, getting comfortable on the couch.
"At the Empire State?" He chuckled.
He ruined it. Why did I actually think for a moment that he would come up with an interesting reply? He's such a child at heart. Although he possess the body of a sex God.
Wait. What?
I've lost my mind.
"Why would I be at the Empire State?"
Stupid. Stupid decision to call him after two beers.
"I don't know. You tell me. You're at the Empire State."
"I'm not at Empire State."
"You just said you're at Empire State."
"No, I'm not. I said I'm not at Empire State."
"So who's at Empire State then?"
"No, you said I was at Empire State. And I asked why would I be at Empire State. And now I'm asking you why you think I'm at Empire State--basically there's a whole of Empire State and I'm confused."
On the other end, I heard his laughter shoot out of him like he'd been holding it all along. He didn't stop for a good ten seconds while I rolled by eyes and tried to contain my own giggle but my smile was inevitable.
"Stop. I'm at my new home. That's what I called you for, silly."
"New home? Hey, yeah Louis told me his girl Ginny was moving in with, well, he took your name. You never told me you were moving in with Ginny."
"Ginny? You mean Jenna?"
I found it amusing.
"Jenna. Ginny. Same thing."
He laughed being the least bit embarrassed about getting the name wrong.
"For you, yeah."
I laughed too. He was contagious.
"You know what? I'll just come down there."
But before I could say another word, he had ended his side. I didn't want him to come and see me like this. I was getting ready for bed, not a meeting with him. But maybe he'd take about ten minutes from wherever in this city he lived. For once, I was thankful of the traffic that this city moved around with. I ran to my room getting my white SnapBack off me, leaving me in just in my black bra when the door bell rang. Having no other option, I put it back on and headed for the guest on the other side of the wooden door.
"Welcome to the neighbourhood, Kapoor."
Uh, what?
"So when you said come down, you meant from your floor to my floor."
He passed my surprised state, into the room and slumped on the couch I had myself comfortable in, just moments ago.
"Bingo."
