Piper's POV
I landed on the ground with a heavy thud. I stared up at the dull concrete ceiling, my body aching from the hours of vigorous training. A shadow loomed over me and smirking face popped into view.
Nate grinned down at me. "Ready to go again, Pipes?"
I sighed and took Nate's waiting hand as he pulled me up off the mat and back onto my sore feet. I took her stance, feet spread shoulder width apart, arms up, ready to block. I huffed, blowing my sweaty bangs out of her face.
"Bring on, Nathaniel."
I smirked. Nate was an easygoing, hard to annoy guy, that is, until you called him his full name.
He lunged. I took this as my opportunity and sidestepped, causing him to stumble. How do you win a fight against a 6'4 boy with super strength and super speed, when you're only 5'2 and a 100 pounds soaking wet? Easy, you outsmart him.
I grinned at his mistake. The trick was to know your opponents weakness and Nate was impulsive. I stuck out her tongue to taunt and with that he lunged again.
I maneuvered around him, sticking my foot out to trip him but Nate grabbed my wrist as he fell, pulling me down with him.
I landed on top, pinning his arms to his sides.
"Dominant, I like it," Nate smirked. I blushed, momentarily loosing focus at his comment.
Nate quickly rolled us over so he was now on top, one hand pinning my arms above my head, the other supporting his body that hovered inches over mine.
We stared at each, other unable to look away, chests so close we could almost hear each others hearts beating.
Nate leaned in, eyes still locked with mine, inching closer and closer... until Eamon started furiously coughing, to the point where he sounded like a colic victim.
Nate blinked drawing away only before whispering in my ear, "I always end up on top, don't I, babe?" and with that he winked and rolled away.
I leaned up on my elbows to see a very red faced Eamon, an overly excited Emmaline, a extremely uncomfortable Hawthorne, and of course, an overly cocky Nate.
