Ka'ab bin Ujraa رضى الله عنه relates, Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Come near to the mimbar." And we came near to the mimbar.

When he ascended the first step of the mimbar he said, "Aameen." When he ascended the second step, he said, "Aameen". When he ascended the third step, he said, "Aameen".

When he descended, we said, "Oh Rasul of Allaah, we have heard from you today something which we never heard before." He said, "When I ascended the first step, Jibraeel عليه السلام appeared before me and said," Woe to him who found the blessed month of Ramadhaan and let it pass without gaining forgiveness." Upon that I said, "Aameen". "When I ascended the second step, he said, "Woe to him before whom thy name is mentioned and then does not read durood (Salaatun Nabi) on you." I replied, 'Aameen'. When I ascended the third step, he said, "Woe unto the person in whose presence both parents or one of them attain old age, and (through failure to serve them) is not allowed to enter Jannah." I said, "Aameen."

Virtues of Laylatul Qadr.

Ubaada bin Saamit رض الله عنه reports that he asked the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم about "Laylatul Qadr". He replied: "It is in Ramadhaan, during the last ten days, on the unevenly numbered nights, either the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th or the last night of Ramadhaan. Whosoever stands in "Ibaadah" on this night with sincere faith and genuine hopes of gaining reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. Among the signs of this night is that it is a serene, quiet, shining night, neither hot, nor cold but temperature as if a moon is shinning clear, and no meteors are shot at the "shayaateen" on that night; it lasts until the break of the dawn. Another sign is that at morn, the sun rises without any radiant beams of light, appearing rather like the moon in it's fullness. On that day, Allaah prohibits the "shayateen from rising up with the sun."
